We’re going back a ways but I would have like to have seen Salvador Sanchez and Eusebio Pedroza fight. Both long time featherweight champions at the same time.

I think it's wild when a fighter has a little fan base and they pretend fights didn't happen. I saw the Mtagwa fight, I don't know how you can watch fight that and see a guy who has stamina issues, not a great chin and struggles on the backfoot and think he can beat Salido.

It was similar when Broner has undefeated and at this peak of being overhyped, where his rabid fanbase pretended the Quintero, De Leon and Pauli fights didn't happen. Especially the first two. I don't know if you were on this forum at the time in 2013 but the posters on here acted like Broner would legitimately kill Maidana, at least 95% of posters on here deemed that as good as sanctioned murder. I was totally baffled and was very confident Maidana would not only win but beat the hell out of him. Which of course he did. I don't know how you could watch his fights with Quintero, De Leon, Pauli, Gavin Rees, and others not see that Maidana who is bigger, stronger, dirtier and hits substantially harder than anyone he's fought by a ginormous margin was not going to land massive punches on a totally cement foot Broner with an average defense. I made a lot of money on that fight.
Yeah it happens all the time. I did think he’d beat Salido tbh, but you could always see Juanma was a kill or be killed type fighter.

I was high on Broner at 135, the DeMarco win was impressive, I was thinking the De Leon might have been an off night but the Paulie fight was when I realised he was nowhere near as good as people thought. I also picked Maidana. Annoyingly I only bet on him by KO, Broner did show real toughness that night tbf to him.

Mosley-Berto 2010 aswell, cancelled due to the earthquake in Haiti.
Yeah I was looking forward to that one. Both tbh but Mosley vs Judah. Would have been explosive.

Hopkins already had roots in Montreal due to the two Pascal fights, so I'm sure he would've sold some tickets up there for a Stevenson fight.

Who knows, though...how much was GBP on their heads to work with Al at that time? He did take most of his fighters and ruined their relationship with HBO, so Oscar and Richard may not have been all that elated to work with him.
I’m sure B-Hop vs Stevenson was close to being made but Haymon was dragging out the negotiations because Thomas Williams Jr (I think but definitely a Haymon fighter) was the IBF mandatory and if a certain timeframe passed the IBF wouldn’t grant him an exemption to unify vs Stevenson. Haymon wanted B-Hop vs Stevenson for the WBC/WBA and then the vacant IBF for Williams Jr. B-Hop/GBP instead contacted Duva and they got the Kovalev fight made prior to the IBF deadline.
