I don't know why they keep comparing this guy to Usyk, I've never seen Usyk with half his jaw hanging off running away from a 40 year old for the last 4 rounds, not have I seen him wobbled by a 6 fight novice on a weeks notice.
Jai is an entertaining fighter but he's nowhere near Usyks level And I don't think he's durable enough for heavyweight.
Also Zurdo has a VERY good chance against him.Comment

It's depressing how many times he said the words "undisputed". Good fights is what we need and the belt groups create obstacles. Jai - CBS would be a good fight, but of course the latter prefers a WBOgus 'interim' which he can sit on until Zurdo vacates so he can get his email belt. The WBC created a circle jerk which will prevent unifications.Comment

He could definitely get one of the guys waiting in the WBC queue to skip the line for a shot at the lineal title if they offered enough money. So why not Rozicki or Peralta?
Opetaia is the legitimate lineal champion from the first Briedis win, and his later defense against Briedis was another really good win.
But that's literally his entire body of work. It's hard to believe he wants Zurdo vhen Zurdo is lining up Bivol, Smith, Goulamirian, CBS, and Dorticos consecutively while Opetaia's handlers are scanning the IBF rankings for the most anonymous name they can find without getting him stripped again.Comment

I don’t think Opetaia will get any of the other belt holders as they’re dining out on their titles as long as they can. Zurdo and Jack are much more likely to fight each other rather than Jai. I don’t think that’s a reason to force him up to heavyweight however where he’ll be at a disadvantage against most guys.
I think cruiser going up to heavy is a lot like a lower weight fighter jumping up multiple weights. I can think of 3 cruiser weight fighters (since the division existed) that went on to win titles at heavy.Last edited by Butt stuff; 08-29-2025, 04:16 AM.Comment

Maybe Jai thinks he is another Usyk or maybe he would step up to heavy with the hope of meeting up with Usyk But i have seen Usyk fight in more then one division and Jai is no Usyk nor does he have a shot at meeting him in the ring unless he wants to be a sparring partner.....................👍 1Comment
