Vergil Ortiz Jr. is salty (rightfully so) that Boots passed on him to fight Stanionis, so negotiations will be diffcult! So I think Hearn should seek to get Boots a title fight in his next outing! That might make Ortiz negotiations quite different, since Vergil has yet to be in a title fight!

Ennis is a great talent, but his balls are not big enough to take on big challenges at the spur of a moment. He has to take the slow train first and fans are not sure how far the train goes before he reaches the real destination.

That's a weird one - Ortiz been around a long time now and his promoter hasn't got him a title fight

Stop the racism! You lose any credibility or respect on these boards.

What I'm saying is that Boots getting himself a belt will give him leverage in negotiations with Vergil. Oscar has made Vergil a Champion, but he has made him a "Star!" He ran the same playbook with Munguia too!

For the record, I think Eddie Hearn is an idiot but even a broken clock is right at least twice a day. I'll go on record right now saying that Jaron Ennis's style is all wrong for Virgil Ortiz.

IF they ever fight, it should be a close competitive fight. I don't know who wins and I will pay to watch it. So far, Ortiz has shown that he has balls to face tough assignments and Boots has shown reluctance to fight guys who would be 50-50 with him before the fight.

I just hope that matchup gets made in 2026 , meanwhile Boots needs a statement type of debut. Luckily his choice of opponent allows thats.

Eddie Hearn just comes across like a second hand car salesman.
But... he is always accessible. He is quotable. He's doing what a promoter should do - being in front of a mic answering questions about his fighters and boxing in general.
                      Al Haymon - who?
Oscar - has a rant once a week
Bob - having his afternoon nap, in the morning, afternoon and evening.
                      Tom Lloeffler - occasional quote
                      Kathy Duva - gone quiet
Frank Warren , accessible half as quotable as Hearn, but at least he does press conferences.

America needs new promoters. The field is wide open.
