Kid is looking nice so far. Another good fight lined up, too. Not messing around. Might just head to the event tomorrow night. Tickets still available.

You live close to the venue, well, closer than I do.

I was at the fights last night. It was freezing in the ballroom where it was held. Haha Our boy ran up against more than he could handle. Baraou didn’t fly all the way from Germany to come back empty handed. Gotta give it to him. I’d say it’s possible Tellez can step up his game and become better, but now his ultimate potential is obviously in question. He has heart; that’s important. Let’s see how he responds after this first loss.

You can have a bad night, especially if you're 24/25yo, thinking you're invincible. Sometimes, we need a humbling experience, and my friend, those can come in any shape or form. Now is when the real game starts. What he is going to do after his loss is more important than what happened in the fight, because he can't go back and rewrite the script for the fight, but he can change whatever mistakes he made and learn from them. Of course, my opinion.

I agree 100%. Gonna be very interesting what he looks like the next time out of the gate. At least he showed balls, a willingness to fight, and grit. I was concerned Yoenis would stay down after the KD. That late in a fight, after all those punches traded, fighters are often spent and never make it to their feet. And in hindsight, Tellez was up against a very worthy opponent.

You mentioned the freezing environment. What do you think? A Cuban fighting a German in unusual cold conditions, that could be a factor. Take the same two guys and put them on a 85/90 degrees venue and see what happens.

Lol I don’t know. I believe that German was of African ancestry. But it was probably not cold for the fighters, since they were very active. I was very cold by then, though, sitting there through all the fights; and I recall seeing at least one guy about my age rubbing his arms. Haha
