On what do you base your certainty that he would crush Lubin? I, personally, think Lubin would beat Bakhram. Culcay gave Bakrham fits and he has nowhere near the boxing skills, talent, or punching power that Erikson has.
Ortiz is avoiding the IBF (rehydration limit), not Murtazaliev. If Ortiz hadn't had two stints with rhabdomyolysis I'd probably think the rehydration clause is an excuse.
Being avoided isn't the same as being ducked. Prize fighters have to take lots of factors into consideration.
The Culcay fight has been explained a million times... It was Ramadan and he was fasting throughout training camp, even hours before the fight. Listen... Ortiz went life and death with Bohachuk and did not give him a rematch although it was fight of the year candidate. Because it's a f-a-cking hard fight. Let's face it: Oscar knows, as pretty much everyone who knows boxing that Murthazaliev is a beast. Thus... Lubin.

More like the Culcay fight has been EXCUSED a million times. Beterbiev fought during Ramadan. So did Devin Haney. Maybe they weren't at their best in those fights, but their entire skill sets were still there. Murtazaliev doesn't have the skills, in my opinion.

As for Ortiz not rematching Bohachuk, I don't have a problem with it. If that fight had a belt at stake then, yes, it should have been rematched.

So tell me: what has Bakhram Murtazaliev done IN THE RING to warrant being labeled the best or one of the best in the division? Please, educate me. What are you (and those who think like you) seeing? Outline his attributes as a fighter and what makes him better than everyone else. Why are you so invested in this guy?

I think a lot of fighters at 154 are excellent: Fundora, Ortiz, Bohachuk, Boots, Thurman, Madrimov, Tellez. And I like them all. I don't know who's the best yet. Nobody has separated themselves. I think we can agree we'd like to see all of these guys - and others like Zayas, Ramos, Lubin, Murtazaliev, Walsh etc - fight each other. Hopefully, we will soon. But, on top of the fact that fighters are only fighting 2x a year (3 if we're lucky) which makes it difficult to get all the match-ups, we all know the problems with boxing that makes it even more complicated (promoters, networks, etc).
