  • Why is Wilder back in hiding?

Wilder beat his tomato can this summer and talked big about fighting the best but the reality is the big fraud has gone back into hiding. Not a peep about challenging Joshua - who needs a fight - or any other free name. You would think Wilder would be more pro active trying to make a big fight, not in hiding. Looks like Haymon and Finkel are waiting to cash out the big bum against someone marquee.

It was simply a PR event to get others to consider him for a big payday.

Wilder is done in boxing. His losses and lack of activity have taken the love of the sport from him. He no longer has the aggression, the confidence, or the ability to take a punch, and is just a fraction of what he was. Age, father time, loss, and inactivity are all factors in that. Wilder no longer has to protect his 0, so he might be looking for some last payday(s) against Joshua, hoping that Turki might put up some money for that.

Wilder was never anything anyway. Haymon and Finkel always knew it and that's why they ducked Joshua and Whyte and Povetkin and only dared to go after what they calculated was a shot Fury. Fury was indeed shot but Wilder has nothing. His KO aura was a hoax, fabricated by beating PBC hired patsies and divers. Wilder never had any confidence except knowing Haymon had him protected. Wilder was koed in sparring by a Wladimir jab.

Wilder faked the AJ negotiations, faked like he would have fought Usyk, faked his way out of having to fight Povetkin and mandatory Whyte. Wilder was nothing but another Primo Carnera or Seth Mitchell. A WWF created nothing with a big mouth and zero boxing skills.

Blame it on the Turki. He's bringing old heads back out of retirement or up for one last fight because they want to score these insane paychecks that Turki is ushering out. Not to mention, it's not only the fighters but everyone involved around them. Their team. Their managers.

I partially feel Pacquiao's comeback was Sean Gibbon's idea. Not only his "wife" as he claims. You have to imagine these guys are looking at the paychecks as well and thinking how much they can get of their cut if their fighter can score one of these lottery ticket bouts.

Yes when Pac's handlers saw a phony like Paul and a legend like Tyson earn over $25m each for a phony sparring session, Pac is worth just as much if not more.

Povetkin tested positive, and the WBC withdrew its sanctioning of the fight, not Wilder's fault. Wilder was ready to fight him in the latter's backyard in Russia. AJ and Eddie were on a different planet in terms of negotiations and were never ready for equal splits. AJ fans argue in his favor, but it is what it is...you do not go to another champion and lowball him, telling him that's what he should earn. As a champion, he does not need to accept an offer. Eddie and AJ were not able to negotiate with Fury and never made that fight as well. Wilder and Fury were able to negotiate. AJ had exclusive deals, and Eddie wanted everything on the then-nacent DAZN. Eddie and Frank weren't even talking to each other and acted like enemies, not just competitors.

Back in the day, Eddie had many HWs, and he wasn't the easiest to deal with. People tend to forget that part, and it isn't until the Saudis stepped in that fights started getting made. Sure, Wilder was never a great boxer, but his right hand and athleticism bailed him out in his fights, making him an overall decent fighter. Back in 2019, I would have favored Wilder to KO Joshua.
