    What's your argument?

That boxing isn't as popular as basketball?

Well DUH, we already knew that. That's not the argument.

The argument is whether boxers who have Olympic backgrounds are on average more well-known than those that don't & fact is, that The Olympics gave Claressa Shields a leg up on every other women's boxer (not named Laila Ali) in American boxing.

You're the one being ignorant or disingenuous by completely creating a strawman argument

    I'm comparing boxers to boxers

You're bringing basketball players in here as if basketball has anything to do with this argument.

Claressa Shields as an OLYMPIAN had more hype coming into her career than any American woman in history, who didn't have the world's most famous athlete as her father

Shakur Stevenson had more hype coming into his career than 90% of American boxers because people had watched him (crying) on The Olympics.

Even Keyshawn Davis got some notoriety for having Snoop Dogg & Kevin Hart making fun of him at The Olympics.
Dude Ryan Garcia got no bronze medal and is well more well known to the AVERAGE American than Stevenson or Shields.

Americans dont care about Olympic boxing. They dont even care about boxing.

The average American doesn't know Claressa Shields.

lets start. Where do you live ? I will do you like raw. Where do you live. I will disprove you right here. I lived in over 8 states and been to over 6 countries. Let me know what state you live and I will start here.

Ali was famous during the pinnacle of boxing. This trend has no reference to his era since now we have the emergence of the NFL which takes the most of the best talent of the large men that would had been heavyweight boxers.
