If he's not going to block any punches, he may as well fight with his hands down and focus more on his offense.(not that I think it's a good idea, he should learn how to avoid or block punches) I never noticed how poorly he blocks punches before. Oh well, I'm still a fan of him. Almost all his fights are exciting and he's always been a class act IMO.

Watching Taylor fight, one of my friend's and I began to question Jermain's ring smarts. So I ask, is Jermain Taylor a dumb fighter?
What did you expect him to do. He tried jabbing up top and to the body. The game plan should always be to jab. But yes he has not shown the ability to adjust

        No he is not dumb.
        His strategy was ALL wrong.
To beat Arthur Abraham you have to lure him out of that silly shell he stays in and get him to throw first.
Also you cannot stand right in front of him like Taylor did and does to all of his opponents.
Abraham is slow as dirt...the key to beating him is angles...and countering him once he throws.
I honestly think Durrell can beat this guy because he has excellent lateral movement and countering skills.
Abraham is nothing special except his strength which is ungodly.
You have to lure him into throwing first...move laterally and counter the **** out of him...he is VERY hittable.
As for Jermain he need to get rid of his old trainer and start over again.
He is an athletic guy but for some reason just wants to stand in front of guys and trade all the time.
He also needs to work on his defense more.....he really needs help in this area...he is NOT someone who should keep his hands that low.
He also need to work on getting some inside game...all he does is hold when he gets in close....people can learn a LOT from Bernard Hopkins in this regard.

Jermain has remained a stagnant fighter....thats why he is losing....

Someone said it here already, but it looks like he was trying to pace himself. Amazingly he wasn't as "gassed" in the 12th as he was in the Froch fight. He just caught a bad punch.

People shouldn't be bashing Jermain. He fought fairly well up until the KO. His stamina was okay in the late rounds.

It required courage to face a big puncher like Abraham after the tough KO loss to Froch. We should respect Jermain, he has the heart of a warrior.

There is nothing special about King Arthur other than his toughness and his strength.
He boxing skills are AVERAGE at best and thats being kind.

Not being able to read his opponent and adjusting is one of his biggest flaws.

So if that is the standard you are using to judge his ring smarts, then he's a dumb fighter.

I have plenty of respect for Jermain, it's just frightening that a pro boxer fighting at that level doesn't adapt to his opponent.

I knew Taylor had little to no chance going into this fight and after 2-3 rounds, I need had no chance because he doesn't think well in the ring.

He has very good handspeed and explosiveness.
