  • Usyk vs Crawford P4P

Usyk keeps saying Crawford is P4P #1 and not himself, personally I had Crawford #1 after he demolished Spence.

But after seeing Usyk thoroughly defeat Tyson Fury not once but twice, I believe he may have snatched the top spot.

I think if Crawford pulls off the massive weight jump and actually beats Canelo, he is clearly the greatest of this era. But if he loses, then it’s Usyk.

What do you guys think? We are lucky to be in the same era as these 2 great champions.

If Crawford stops Canelo like some people are saying he could be the GOAT.

I think Crawford is the most skilled fighter in boxing which is what Usyk is likely referencing. In terms of resume and accomplishments though, I think Usyk is the clear #1 at the moment.

Crawford us highly overrated. His best win is shot Spence.

Both guys (as well as Naoya Inoue) have a credible case for P4P #1.

I currently have Inoue #1, but I wouldn't disagree with anyone who says Crawford or Usyk deserve it. I especially wouldn't argue with Usyk himself.

Here are their resumes (TBRB rankings used, secondary and interim belts ignored entirely)

Spence didn't look very shot against Yordenis Ugas or Danny Garcia.

Depending on IF & HOW Crawford wins, will determine for me if he moves up to #1 or #2.

A dominating win over a top 7 p4p opponent that gives him a 4th unified undisputed title warrants a move to #1 imo.
If Crawford beats Canelo he's P4P #1 by a mile.

He'd be just the third 4 division lineal champion in the history of the sport after Floyd and Manny.
He'd be just the fifth 3 division undisputed champion after Fitzsimmons, Canzoneri, Armstrong, and Ross (all fought before the WBA/WBC split)
He'd be just the sixth 5 division world titlist in the history of the sport after Hearns, Leonard, De La Hoya, Floyd, and Manny

It's rather unlikely that Crawford beats Canelo, but there's absolutely zero argument against him if he pulls it off. I don't care if it's by split decision on a last second flash knockdown. Starting at 135 and becoming undisputed at 168 is absolutely absurd stuff.
