Yep...Morrell was a stellar amateur which is why his career's been fast-tracked in the pro's (just like an extremely talented soccer player get's promoted to the first team early). I think Smith is a VERY winnable fight for him and if Beterbiev retires and Bivol moves up, he's probably the next best fighter in the division after Benavidez.

One thing's for sure, if he continues impressing in tough fights like he has done recently, Turki will continue to give him opportunities as he's EXACTLY the type of fighter he loves.

Agreed to all. Morrell obviously has some serious upside. How far he’ll go is, of course, yet to be seen, but the potential is clearly there. David’s fighting spirit is, by now, pretty evident; that’s something every fight fan can get behind. It’s just great to see some skilled fighters willing to mix it up.

Even-though I felt Puello did enough to win, Matias was also fighting in NYC. I assume fans were reacting more to Matias' work than Puello's.

I'm aware, but how was the crowd? I normally watch fights on mute. If Matias was getting more reaction, that could've swayed the judges in a close bout.

Probably. That was the one fight I missed from that card, it started earlier than I have anticipated.

Matias was dead on his feet after Round 7 and walking into every counter Puello threw. The problem with Matias's cyborg style is the fact that it's not sustainable for 12 rounds.
