thought teraji won that, should have won that considering he is a long reigning champion

What a fúcking fight. Sandoval through and through, what a tremendous fighter. The compact punches and timing were absolutely masterful. Boxing got it right this time.

I forgot about this fight and it sounds like I missed out in watching a good live fight.

Eh? He either won more rounds or he didn't.

Anthony Olascuaga vs Ricardo Sandoval is the fight to make in the states.

Do you know if he's subject to a rematch clause for the Teraji fight?

I think Teraji has a rematch clause since the fight was not a mandatory. But not sure Teraji plans to reinforce it, he be cutting his career shorter if he takes an immediate rematch right now after suffering 12 rounds of a quite back and forth fight.

Unlike Sandoval, gotta remember that Teraji is 33 years old, he is already on the downslide considering the longitivity of fighters in the lighter weight classes, this is not even taking into account of how many wars Kenshiro has been throughout his career. Akihiko Honda, would likely prefer that one of his fighters like Olascuaga, to take a shot of earning the titles while Teraji recovers and catapult Anthony's career without facing another Japanese fighter. Honda doesn't like it at all when he matches his own fighters that he works with unless it is necessary to make a profit.

Reason why Honda turned down Rodriguez vs Nakatani, despite that Robert and Rudy were in talks to make the fight happen. Saying he is willing to make IF it was built to be a big headliner.

33 is ancient at flyweight. Everybody is little, only some grow to heavyweight. The competition is feirce, hunger driven. Good for Japan, they make the best little men, even if they are not Japanese.
