The last time I met Dwight he was on crutches, and when he saw me he got right up to shake my hand. His persona was a penitentiary bad ass - which was true enough when he was a kid; but he grew up, and against the odds, he really made something of himself. An inspiration!

I didn’t grow up watching him either, but looking back at his career, it's clear he was a true warrior—both in and out of the ring. From prison to world champion, his journey is nothing short of incredible. It’s sad to hear he battled dementia later in life. Rest in peace, Champ. You’ll never be forgotten. heardle
