It sucks to see boxers dying out. Big George, now him. Qawi was before my era and before I started watching boxing, actually I would have been too young anyways but 71 is pretty young these days, says he had dementia maybe boxing related

The last time I met Dwight he was on crutches, and when he saw me he got right up to shake my hand. His persona was a penitentiary bad ass - which was true enough when he was a kid; but he grew up, and against the odds, he really made something of himself. An inspiration!

He was a real gentleman, through and through.

      RIP Champ.

Wow, reading your memories and reflections really shows how much Dwight meant to the boxing community. I didn’t grow up watching him either, but looking back at his career, it's clear he was a true warrior—both in and out of the ring. From prison to world champion, his journey is nothing short of incredible. It’s sad to hear he battled dementia later in life. Rest in peace, Champ. You’ll never be forgotten. heardle
