Cong**** to. Xander, however he should take his his time to development, more at 154. He's not ready for Fundora, Ortiz, Bohachuk, Madrimov or MURTAZALIEV. Thats just to name a few, His management team should manage him a little carefully.

I give Zayas a B. He generally performed well, but he should work on his inside game, which he could since he's physically strong. He should add an uppercut to his arsenal; that would have served him well with Garcia. As he got tired, his jab also disappeared, and his way of hugging Garcia was concerning. But he did show good stamina and was never hurt, even when caught flush.

I do think Zayas has some power, he just doesn't press when he has his opponents buzzed, which did happen a couple of times with Garcia. He's not Ivan Calderon or Paulie Malignaggi.

He is 22, so we'll see if they do move him slowly. I would like to see him against Ramos or Bohachuk.

I liked the fights in the undercard more than the main event.

But Zayas seemed disciplined. That bodes well for him. I felt his movement was inconsistent, and if you are looking to fight opponents with physical advantages over you, movement is your friend. He needs to keep his cardio perfect and keep his opponents trying to track him down which will open up advantages for his offense. I think the potential is there, but I kind of agree with most of the postings above me: He is not ready for the top of this division based off that fight. I know Garcia was limited but he did what he could to at least keep Zayas honest.

Side note: Very sad to see ESPN dropping out of the boxing game. I keep ESPN+ for college football, golf coverage, and hockey, so I will not drop it. But the value takes a huge drop for me. This is not as sad for me as when HBO and Showtime both dropped boxing within a year of each other, but it is sobering that boxing is down this far the food chain that it is not profitable for even a 24 hour a day sports channel with multiple feeds to fill with content. Just sobering.

I thought he did well. The lack of power is the thing that will hold him back. Once he got cracked early in the fight he adjusted and was not as aggressive.

Salute to Xander Zayas! Well done! Fundora is a different animal! Not sure if Zayas is ready for that. I think Vergil would be a better choice!

I'm not sure Ortiz would be a smart choice for the youngster yet. Or Fundora or Madrimov or Murtazaliev for that matter. Those cats are a bit too smart for what Zayas is bringing. Zayas needs to work on a few things before stepping up. I do think there's improvement, and I like his composure, but there's room for improvement at his age.

Yeah, most people just don't give a **** ass about boxing. A big part is how boxers now see the sport as a mere business, which affects the matchups and the frequency of bouts.

I get that. At the end of the day boxing is a BU$INE$$. Unless it is a MANDATORY, you can pick and choose who you fight. Its called the Canelo playbook. At the end of the day he is going to have to prove himself against the d0gs of the division and there are lots of them. Until then he and his team can pick and choose.

He's only 22, so there's plenty of time for improvement.

                    He needs that time.

Xayas is solid 54 pounder but there is something abouth the kid that still doesn't convince me, yea he just 22 and a whole career ahead of him still but rn I don't see him beating guys like Fundora or Bakhram, I do respect his willingness to take unification smoke tho. Gotta keep testing himself but there is evident gaps in his game that needs to be taken care of or he'd be taking an L soon enough, other than that, great for PR Boxing!
