That's right, 154 is stacked with talent and great matchups.
Unfortunately for us, the suffering fans, why will it be any different at 154 than it was at 147?
Boots can fight once or maybe twice a year just like he did at 147 and still avoid the heat of Ortiz and Murtazaliev.
Sugar Ray Leonard fought a murderer's row of opponents in his prime - the best available.
Can you do the same, Boots? It's not just up to Eddie. You have a vote, too.

EDIT: It would give me some measure of satisfaction to see the heat at 147 (as of today Brian Norman, Jr.) move up someday to 154 and pummel Boots out of the ranks of the unbeaten. Not because I have animus towards Boots per se, but for the realization of the aphorism "you can run but you can't hide".
Don't get me wrong, I understand why Norman is trying to sell that narrative, I just didn't think anyone was silly enough to believe it.Last edited by factsarenice; 08-06-2025, 06:29 PM.Comment

In the meantime Eddie was also looking at Jesus Ramos who IMO, is a much, much, much tougher fight then Josh Kelly. I had Ramos beating Ericson Lubin and after watching it again I'm certain of it, he beat Lubin and he'd walk all over Kelly.Last edited by factsarenice; 07-30-2025, 03:42 PM.Comment

Kelly is ranked high enough but I'm not sure the fight would be competitive. Besides that, Kelly wants more than Eddie will pay and I don't blame Josh, it's a big risk and Kelly has better options because he's ranked and most of the belt holders are more than willing to fight him.

Ramos offers Boots zero exposure which is what he needs.Comment
