This is what I think most rational people think as well.

I don’t think even the most ardent Floyd fans have argued he is better than all of these guys.

Who Floyd fought post Hatton was over 35% risk

How many prime all time great fighters did Floyd beat

How many natural wws did Floyd beat despite spending half his career in the division

The answers will point you in the right direction

Two words...Manny Paquio. (even though Floyd but Manny, IMO, Manny is the "greater" fighter)

I think most would agree with you. There's no way marciano is greater than Joe Louis too. But I'm sure marciano fans will say "marciano unbeaten duh" "marciano has win over Joe Louis duh"

The great thing about Floyd’s career is there are 2 definitive periods.

Pre ODH where he was high risk, low reward and had to get it out of the mud because big earners wouldn’t fight him.

Then there is the post ODH period as the cash cow where he did things the same way they were done to him.

I agree with RJJ above although I think resume wise he is superior to Roy and his skill set, especially defensively, is slightly better. But Roy’s speed and athleticism set him apart.
Fair assessment though I am put off on ranking him so high because of that period after he fought Hatton and before Marquez where 147 was hot and Floyd was just MIA. After the Marquez fight for him and after the Cotto fight for Pac would have been the best time for them to fight.

Floyd disqualified himself from goat talk when he ducked Pac for six years, Margarito, Cotto 2008, Williams, Harris, Martinez, GGG 154. A real authentic great wants to fight the greats not use a thousand excuses to duck them and then handpick some patsy or old name who lost value who needs a payday. Floyd also DQed himself when he bragged he is a coward and cowardice is why he is so rich.

Floyd has never been in the equation of GOAT talk, so it's not like floyd disqualified himself, it's never been an.option in first place.
He's no more potential GOAT than calzaghe was, or marciano or even ottke. The body of work just doesn't warrant GOAT talk in first place, even though people can appreciate they were amongst best in their day
