Sitting on your phone or computer clowning a guy that didnt get up after getting his eye socket broken is just straight f ucked lol.

Dubois chose to save his eye.

MMA fighters choose to tap out to save themselves from potential career ending leg breaks, knee destruction or passing our from chokes. Choosing not to get up when you are seriously injured like Dubois was or severely concussed like AJ was vs Ruiz (after like 5 knock downs) is totally OK.

I'm not the one getting punched in the head so no I have no problem with it.

Anyone who's had a head injury or concussion would agree, it's not fun. At all.

I work in optometry and if you get a detached retina, it's repaired with laser and then know what you are doing? Lying face down for 20 hours a day for several weeks so you don't go blind.

Why do fight fans compare trained pros with civilians ?!?!?
We don't know how a boxer will handle themselves outside of the ring.
Just ask Haney how his fight with that random carny went.

And just because a guy isn't a pro boxer doesn't mean they can't fight.

I'll use the entertainment industry as examples again -
Not one of us can make a movie that strangers will see
Not one of us will ever perform in front of strangers in a concert
YET, we clown on directors, actors and singers that suck.
Knowing damn well we "can't" do any better.

Or what about any other sport where it's athletes suck ?!?!?

Fcking fight fans....thinking boxers are above ridicule

            Quitting is quitting*

Different people have different levels of resilience and this can vary from moment to moment. I try to avoid criticizing fighters in these moments.

Dubois was outclassed and punished in both fights. Even if he got up again, he was only going to continue to get outclassed and punished.

You don't throw the towel in unless your fighter is getting absolutely battered a lot and can't fight back.

Also, the ref doesn't have to recognise the towel either, he can throw it back or ignore it. But yes, Dubois was well beaten, not saying he wasn't.

He's an excellent puncher, doesn't have the best chin or high ring IQ, but already got a lot out of boxing.

I mean he was well out of the fight had already been put down twice the second time a heavy one I think if he’d off got up and beaten the count again he was just gonna take a few more and either get stopped or the corner throws in the towel…

You only have one problem in our weak society the misunderstanding or bending of the definition of quitting. We arrived in a generation in which wetry to bend simple facts. People to this day claim Ryan Garcia did not quit against Tank Davis. Quitting is black on white if you think it was smart to quit is something complete different and open for interpretation. Dubios was able to get up and he showed it just like Ryan Garcia by easily standing up at 10 and walking back to his corner. Do i judge fighters for quittig absolutely not because i don't feel what they feel in the moment, i do fight since i'm teenager and i was in situations and so far did not quit BUT i will never say that we should judge someone if he quit since we just don't know what exactly they felt.

I bring you an example Gerald Mcclellan 100 percent QUIT in his last fight it's a fact but he did for good reason, he felt something was horribly wrong and honestly he should have quit earlier because we all know how this one turned out for him.

It is okay to say someone QUIT since it is a fact not an opinion but let's not abuse someone for quitting.

I thought Dubois looked out on his feet as he walked back to the corner.
I thought the same thing. He just got dropped hard before and took clean punches he didn't see. He was walking to his corner and he was clearly in LaLa land.
