Why is it an accusation?
The word "quit" is simply a verb used to describe when someone opts not to continue with something.
Plenty of fighters make the decision to opt out during a fight when they could continue of they truly wanted, even they're likely to get hurt again.
If Dubois can get up at 10 and stroll back to his corner looking fine, then I'll say he chose not to beat the count, therefore, quit is the correct verb.Comment

He declined to rise from the canvas in time to beat the count. Also, his corner, seeing their fighter wasn't going to beat the count, tried in vain to save him the embarrassment by throwing in the towel at about the count of 8.Comment
