yes!! manny believes he could beat barrios! that's a no brainer. aint that what all fighters believe??? LOL!! no fighter has ever said "i dont think i can beat my opponent"...
Well he had other options like: Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis, Brian Norman,Jr and Rolando Romero but he chose Barrios. Let’s not kid ourselves. .At age 46; Manny Pacquiao more than knows which battles to choose. He is wise
but if they wanna rigged it, they would have made manny the winner!!! what's the point of a draw? team pac already said they are not interested in a barrios rematch! making manny the winner would have open doors for a possible rematch against floyd, or pac could challenge tank!!! that's where the money is!!! why would they script it to a draw. stop making excuses for barrios poor performance!! "barrios doesnt want to drop the strap, he only agrees to the script to keep his belt" LOL!!!! dumb! fuck outta here.
What he meant was you need two sides to agree how it’s supposed to go in a rigged fight. So why would Barrios agree to let pacquiao win? For the payday?
With a draw all sides won, barrios won, had a payday and kept his belt.
pacquiao got a payday and didn’t get hurt.
win-win… regardless where they’ll be going after that
makes zero sense what you are trying to imply!!! why the hell would barrios agreed to a scripted fight for him to have a draw??? if he feels he can beat manny, why the hell would he agree to a draw? what does that benefit him? and the same for manny! why the hell would he agree to a draw when the only reason he came back and picked barrios was to make history to win a world title at 46!!! DUMB!
I agree with you- I Dont think it was rigged. Just that if it were rigged, the Draw would be safest because neither fighter loses. Something they can both agree upon...nobody loses

those are harder fights, which is why he picked barrios BECAUSE HE FEELS HE HAS A GOOD SHOT AT WINNING! it's a no brainer. why are you stating the obvious? when has a fighter ever accept a fight where they feel they'll lose???

the rigged fight doesnt make any sense because a draw benefit nobody in this case. remember the fight was "rigged" to make money. so how does PBC make money exactly by doing this?? a rematch is already out of the picture, since team pac says they are not interested in it. and a rematch wouldnt make money anyways.. wouldnt making manny the winner which will open doors for a floyd rematch, match up against tank, etc. would be where the money is?
i have said this that manny's experience alone will be enough for him to win this fight. i was not wrong. lots of people also felt pacman won the fight. barrios is not exactly a top level fighter, so barrios poor performance was kind expected. the fight wasnt rigged. pacman still had enough to make it difficult for barrios, which resulted in a draw, even tho 99% of the boxing world thought manny won that fight.
My thinking before the fight was that small southpaw Tank Davis only needed to land 11 punches to cruise through 4 rounds against Barrios.
Tank Davis has shown historically low punch volume for a number fights, the Barrios match being one of them. I believe it was only 295 punches thrown for Tank in 12 rounds. I don't typically use compubox as a metric for gauging fights, but because Tank is such an outlier with volume, I thought it might be useful. 295 is outrageously low number and backed up what I felt watching that match which was that Tank was never made to work more by Barrios. Incredibly frustrating stuff by Mario.
Barrios had a lightweight in front of him and hardly made physical contact with the guy, never applied real pressure, didn't land anything of significance - he fought the same frustrating fight against Tank as he did with Pac (except he threw almost twice as many shots against Pac.)
I guess people can say Barrios was weight drained for Tank, but I just thought it had more to do with his style than anything else.
Tank fights with old man volume, Pac could be 80 years old and will get off with more punches than Tank and so of course he will be competitive. He did more in the first round than Tank did over 5 rounds.
Unfortunately, Pac might have done a little too much by the 10th and mismanaged his internal scoring and stamina going into the last 3 rounds. I think he was in position to win, but ultimately didn't do enough to close it out imo. Tough one
I wonder what would've happened if Pacquiao threw more body shots instead of headhunting, as is his usual habit. Could it have prevented or reduced Barrios' surge in the final rounds?
