I still have my DAZN sub mostly for the little guys like BAM , I welcome the news I mean the reason I got DAZN was because of the no ppv promise they ended up breaking .Wonder if this ends up in another price increase though ..

Price of DAZN about to go up again. Turki will get his cut.

In fairness, it is great value for boxing fan even if it goes up slightly. They do have A LOT of boxing now.

Queensbury and Matchroom need to scrap PPVs too.

Whole reason I dropped DAZN was because of the PPVs and price hikes. Now that I'll have to drop ESPN+, maybe I'll find my way back.

Great news, but no way they don’t increase the monthly/yearly price.

I lucked out with 1 year contract at 14.99 a month that they offered back in January, if it doesn’t go too much over the 29.99 a month price, I’ll definitely continue my sub next year or sub on a month to month basis depending on the fight schedule

They’re doing wizardry and I don’t think it’s wrong to approach such statements with some skepticism. There HAS to be a catch.

Even back then when DAZN was touting itself as a PPV-free application, I kept asking myself how they would recoup their money after signing both GGG-Canelo for gargantuan amounts of money. That was their carrot stick…that down the line they’d have rights to host Canelo-GGG 3.

It’s perfect storm that Turki has come in and, as Max Kellerman accurately described, waves his magic wand and conjures up the fights that fans want effortlessly. After a slew of PPV’s in the last six months (some cheap, but they’re creeping up again in price), it’s natural for them to perhaps end up bumping up the subscription price. And neither bodes well for the fan. Boxing is an expensive sport to be a fan of.

It hurts ME to pay $225 a year (plus picking and choosing which PPV’s to purchase) and I’d describe myself as in a good position financially. This announcement comes with a natural cautious optimism…because the fighters demand more pay than ever, yet piracy is always easier and easier. The ones who end up with the short end of the stick are the promotional companies footing the bill well into the red.

Look at Bivol-Beterbiev. That fight was one the fans wanted and at a lower price than the standard $80 PPV, and even with a tantalizing match-up AND a lower price, it didn’t recoup anywhere near its expenditures.

Hell, I remember (slightly off topic not related to Turki) going briefly on YouTube during the Taylor-Serrano 3 event and seeing a bunch of live streams for the event. I’m like, “Really?! Netflix is a paltry $12-15 and some people can’t be bothered to cough up the bare minimum? Wow…”

Wasn't this the whole point of when DAZN first came onto the scene? It was pay for a yearly subscription and get all the fights. Then they started to sneak in PPVs on top of your subscription and I guess nobody noticed?

To me that's pretty funny. Turki basically bringing back DAZN to what it was and selling it as a new idea.

I think financial reality just caught up with them. I think it's more complex than your average forum poster is ever likely to allow for when they just want to scream abuse.

I still think it's realistic that a combination of adjusted expectations, a few superstars retiring and increased subscriptions could get boxing away from the PPV model.
