Was pretty close but with the Knockdown you had to edge it to Khataev

Commentators were all outraged that Morrell won. To me it was a very closely fought competitive fight with both guys going back and forth having their moments and I did not think it would be a robbery if either guy won. Perhaps a draw would have been the fairest decision after a brutal fight like that.

The Commentators started sucking Khataev off in the second round and didn't spit his member out until the beginning of the next fight.

Morrell still needs lot work to become world championship level. Tends to eat too many punches for his own good.

He also waits until the other guy is done throwing to let his own punches go. He needs to learn to punch with a guy and not wait so much. Head movement wouldn't kill him either.

I felt Khataev nicked it and Morrell rallied too late.

Morrell has a lot of talent but his ring IQ is poor and he seems to do everything he shouldn't.
I see no signs of improvement and feel he just lacks a boxing brain and will never maximise his talent.

Gives away all his advantages and abandons his skills to showboat and to take it turns teeing off in bursts, dumb really.

Morrell would go a long way if someone pressured him to use his exceptionally long reach. He has no jab game.

Watching with the irritating commentary on low, I was expecting a close but UD for Khataev. The fight looked close enough that "robbery" is unjustified but that 5th round KD put Khataev a couple of points ahead imo.

Morrell needs another fight in 2025. Maybe Joshua Buatsi vs Morrell will be another intriguing fight.

Khataev edged it. Morrell should rematch him.
