Sorry, Shakur, but you can't be great at boxing if your most important tools-- your hands in this case-- fail you. Your skills mean very little if you cannot execute them when necessary because your hands can't withstand the impact of punching your opponent to the head or body. We've seen the video where you hurt your hand by throwing a punch to the body of your sparring partner. That is no good, my friend. The only great fighter who was able to overcome his hand problems was Floyd Mayweather. He hired some great medical professionals to help him with this issue. All the other greats never had any hand problems; therefore, being able to showcase their great skills. Good luck, though.

      Stevenson UD 10-2.

Bad style matchup and Zepeda hasn't shown an ability to show versatility.

Who wins??? This is a joke, right? Shakur beats on Zepéda like a rented mule for 12 rounds. 11-1 or 10-2. I'm surprised there are even odds on this fight.

Of course, it is easy for those of us outside the ropes to make demands of those in the ring. We are not the ones jeopardizing our health and well-being, in either the present or the future. We are not the ones picking up the tab at the medical center, and we certainly aren’t the ones caring for fighters suffering from the ravages of their careers long after the final bell.Saturday's clash between Shakur Stevenson and William Zepeda at Louis Armstrong Arena could be exactly what is needed for the sport ? and for both fighters.

Sorry Mr Dixon. We are also not the ones who forced them to be in this profession. They get paid. No one would GAF if they retire any time, any day.
Firefighters, front-line soldiers, even garbage collectors are risking their lives too, yet have zero chance of ever getting paid in millions of dollars. So let's stop waxing poetic about people who chose to be in a profession society never forced them into. Billions of people on earth survive in any one of millions of jobs. Stop acting as if they have no choice.

Doe, you need to stop this nonsense. Both of these hand issues you're highlighting are one-time headlines, and you people keep making it seem like they persist/ed just to either have an excuse or amplify the win. Thousands of fighters experience hand problems simply because it's part of the sport. Don't make it look like it only happens/ed in 2 individuals. Bottom line is it heals over time just like any part of the body.
