Don't be a masochist and force yourself to watch that again. Watching that again would be like when a dog vomits and then eats it. It's bad and pointless. As far as I am concerned they both lost last night and much worse than that, boxing lost and on a huge stage.

I'm never in any rush to rewatch a bad fight, lol

I score fights. I remember when Kovalev knocked Ward down early and had a lead. Ward got beat up, but he won more rounds than he lost. I called Ward the victor and so did the judges. A lot of people disagreed because they felt that Ward got beat up. He did in a couple of rounds, but he won the most rounds/points.

I will watch Taylor VS Serrano again one day, but I had Serrano winning a very bad, boring, terrible fight. I rewatch fights often, and come away with different scores all of the time. Pacquiao VS Marquez 2, Mayweather VS Castillo I, Moralas VS Barrera I and 2 were very difficult fights to score.

I gave Taylor round one VS Serrano last night. Taylor landed 1 punch, Serrano landed 2. I wonder how many people, who scored the fight, gave the first round to Taylor. How many gave it to Serrano. Anyways, when it was all said and done, I had Serrano winning. Others did as well - to include her own corner.

Please. Just stop with playing the disingenuous, deflecting, pious “tough guys posting” card. No one forced Katie Taylor or Amanda Serrano to be boxers. No one forces anyone to box.

But if you ARE going to box and you ARE going to accept millions and millions of dollars to do so - as both Taylor and Serrano did - we should expect more than you getting in the ring and acting like you suddenly realized that “Wow! Being a boxer means I might get hit with a punch!”

And then both of you spending the next 10 rounds acting like you made some unspoken agreement that “You don’t hit me hard enough to hurt me, I won’t hit you hard enough to hurt you, let’s just do a nice ‘move around’ and get our checks.”

Pointing that out isn’t being a fake tough guy. It’s just pointing out the fact that this “I don’t want to get hit - I just want my check” mindset is starting to ruin boxing. Just look at that disastrous Times Square card.

If you’re OK with that, fine - but don’t pretentiously lecture the rest of us who aren’t. It’s like a butcher getting paid big money to cut meat, and then reacting in horror when he realizes he might get blood on his apron.

This is two straight times that MVP has put on a high-profile, heavily hyped main events with a lot more dancing around done than punches thrown. Not a good look, Jake Paul.

You can't go by total punches landed to score a fight , you have to score each round separately. Serrano could hypothetically land one hundred more punches than Taylor in four rounds straight , then loses the rest of the rounds close , and ends up landing 380 more punches than Taylor , she still loses the fight.

They will go home and never watch boxing again unfortunately. Debacles like this on such a huge stage are terrible for the sport.

I was thinking the same thing. Netflix must be cursing these two ladies as well as Jake Paul and Mike Tyson. Both shows were mega events but in terms of fighting, they were colossal, disappointing duds. That was not entertainment. It looked like Amanda showed up to collect the check but was not interested in working for it.

You would have a leg to stand on if you were saying this in regards to the second fight, where Amanda was far and away landed more. This…this was like…who do you like more? A heavier, one shot at a time landing once every six or seven punches…or the one that throws maybe two less punches, but throws 3 and four punch combinations landing 1. It’s a terrible fight to score.

This is the kind of fight I absolutely dread on nights where everyone is watching. Casuals are going back to their homes thinking this is the “epitome” of boxing. The real ones will stick around.

There are those that are saying that while Serrano threw the most punches, that Taylor was landing the effective/clean punches. I disagree.

They both threw the same amount of effective punches. Serrano threw more punches. And even though she hit Air a lot, when it was all said and done, her total punches landed, outnumbered Taylor. That would be enough to win the fight in my opinion.

Taylor looked like she was in a fight. Something effective must have landed.

A lot of internet tough guys in this thread. They obviously didn't feel able to go to war a third time, it happens when fighters know each other well. It's still a greater accomplishment than racking up post counts...
