Maybe similar to Hopkins/Taylor 1…where Taylor was absolutely looking the goods in the first half. Then the tires deflated in rounds 7 and 8, and then rounds 9 and on his tires exploded and Hopkins just tore him apart. It was an amazing rally, but he was too far down the hole to do anything by then.
Watch it and tell me you don’t see robbery all over

All in all, I totally appreciate the class they’ve shown in the lead up to all three fights. Nothing but class although…in that last press conference I like how Amanda called Katie out for backing out of the handshake agreement in the second post fight interview where Katie said she would be willing to fight twelve 3 minute rounds.

When I watched that live, I knew Katie was just saying that in the “feel good” post fight euphoria and that she would strictly ask to just keep a third potential fight with women’s rules. Katie DOES NOT have the gas tank for that kind of war of attrition.

Agreeing to that would be like a sprinter
agreeing to compete against a marathoner in a marathon and expecting to beat him.

Had they made the fight 12 3’s the odds would be sharply skewed towards Amanda.
Good analogy. I agree with your assessment. Katie always looks like the one hanging on for dear life at the end. I think that is partly what contributes to the impression of who the winner was in their fights — that and the fact that Amanda lands the harder shots. Taylor might well finally be KOed if the fight were three-minute rounds.

The first Persoon fight was a horrible robbery. I put it right next to the Williams-Lara robbery.

Think Pacquiao-Marquez, the judges always favored Pacquiao no matter how clean Marquez’s counter punches were.
true but he was the 2nd biggest star in boxing

True. There is a built incentive to favor Pacquiao but I don’t think Marquez was robbed. All three of those fights were close. And the fourth was shaping up to be a barnburner up until an all time classic ice cold KO.

I gotta’ catch it then. I saw Lara-Williams about eight months ago and Williams was busy but an absolute sucker for the overhand left by a southpaw. Same overhand left that Quintana tagged him with all night long in the first fight, and the same one Martinez caught him with repeatedly in the first fight.

Williams never corrected that throughout his career. You could shut your eyes and swing an overhand left blindly and it would be 95% sure to hit.

Yep. Lara hit him at will with the left all night. It was shocking and such a bad robbery. Even the chick I watched it with asked me why they robbed "the little Cuban guy".

I respected Paul because he ducked no one in three weight classes, but he got an absolute gift that night. I had if 9-3 Lara.

Taylor won both fights 100-90. Those scoring headbutts were very damaging and plentiful. Those were the difference. Massive power shots like that always decide close rounds. Serrano had no answer to the powerful headbutts from Taylor, and struggled to defend against them. Nash out - His Majesty

There’s definitely an argument in the second one also that can be made
