Canelo was gifted his first world title when the WBC just announced his upcoming fight at 150lbs against Matthew Hatton would be for the title.

At that point, the names on his resume were Lovemore Ndou (11 losses), 39-year-old Carlos Baldomir, and Miguel Cotto's brother. But he sold a lot of tickets, so he got handed a title.

The entire system around Boxing has been bull**** smoke and mirrors for the longest time - Jake Paul having success just exposes it for what it is.

Eeeeh, maaaaybe you can draw a comparison between them, but Canelo was always in boxing and had over 40 fights before he started to pick up popularity and rise to super stardom. Not to mention, he only faces boxers. Boxing needed a new fresh young star that was boxing only at the time he was coming up. Canelo fit the bill. I find it less obvious and abusive how he got it than how Jake is. Though yes, Jake is working the system and good on him. He's making crazy money out of this gig and he's learned how awesome it is to maybe have 1-2 fights per year earning millions of dollars while taking off the rest of the year to do whatever the f**k else you want.

Throw him in with Deontay Wilder or Usyk at Bridgerweight and call it a night.

Sounds like you fall into the category of people who think making money is the highest value in life.

No actually, I don't. I'll always prefer a fighter choosing legacy over money, however in Jake's situation, I see what he's doing.
