Chavez Jr. is just a decent fighter that in my opinion did live up to the potential he had. He was a physically gifted boxer that did not love the sport enough tot do the things it takes to be a consistent winner. If his name was anything other than "Chavez", he would be one of those guys a few of us recall from his peak in 2010-2013-ish, and the rest of us would go "oh yeah, I totally forgot about him. He had a cup of coffee in a few big fights didn't he?"

Because of his last name, he was expected to do more. It was unrealistic from the word "go". He liked boxing and was good at, he did not have the passion for it to ever be elite. Chavez Jr. will cash that Jake Paul paycheck (hopefully in a one sided KO win so we can move on from the Paul brothers. Even if if they were a net positive for boxing, I am tired of the side shows) and I hope he leaves boxing ok with his career and more importantly at ease with himself.

Chavez Sr. was and is an alcoholic, abusive psychopath. Why should Jr. give a crap about making the man who beat the hell out of him, his siblings, and his mother on a regular basis proud? Jr will never be the fighter that Sr was but he's already then times the man.
