The welterweight division is a wasteland. It can't be a glamor division with a sole occupant. There's no competition.

Im not saying Norman isnt good, but Sasaki made him look really good. I got stick for saying the same about Yafai. Who is Sasaki for Norman to get such high praise? Especially after passing on Boots. The welters are like a land of blind men where a near sighted man can be king. Barrios?

It is at the moment, but give it a little time. Norman is only 24.
New talent will arrive eventually and revitalize the moribund division.

Well, yeah, but Norman did what he was supposed to do, and looked good doing it.
Speed, power, poise, aggression, and excellent fundamentals.
He'll have to keep proving himself every time out but he passed the eye test.

Norman's only redeeming factor is his punching power.

Without Boots its a dead division. No matter the outcome of Pacquiao vs Barrios. Norman is lucky he is in a dead division with no competition.

I think Norman passes the eye test. He pummeled a face-forward Sasaki as expected. But most def Norman ducked Boots Ennis. I don't see a viable contender at 147 atm. Top Rank matchmaking doing its thang; formulaic.

147 can only become "exciting" if Teo, Devin, and Gary Antuanne move up! Matias should be ready for 147 too.

Why and what exactly did Boots bring to the division besides calling out fighters only to blatantly avoid them
Spence , Crawford and then wiggled his way out of the Ortiz fight because he was gonna unify 147
                    None of the above happened

”I certainly don’t believe that he’s dodging Norman Jnr.”

Well, no shit Paulie. We all know that it’s Brian Norman Jr who dodged Ennis and turned down a $1.7 million offer. Why try to spin it any other way?
