It's an expression of desperation.
A mature/learned corner should be able to see this.
Good thing Stanionis corner knew better.
I really feel bad for Sasaki.
He's very young to be going out like that.
If Sasaki continues to fight, he'll be relegated to being a gatekeeper at best.
what a $tup1d $tup1d corner.Comment

When I see a fighter swinging wild like that, they have very little or nothing left to offer anymore

Since Sasaki missed weight against HIraoka at 140,
that means Sasaki can no longer fight at 140.
If it's true, he can still fight at 140, but only outside of Japan.Comment

Adrian Clark and Jolene Mizzone represent as good a management team as there is in boxing. Clark hired the right person in Mizzone, who had a long history with Main Events and knows how to spot talent and develop it. They made the correct call walking away from the Boots fight for anything less than 2.2 million. Clark/Mizzone also work with Top Rank and what promotional company is better that Top Rank, despite what the bottom-feeders spew on Twitter.
It was a good call to turn down an offer of $1.7 million to fight for $150 k instead? In what universe?
And I like how Brian Norman Jr gets all mouthy about Boots in the post fight interview now that Boots announced he will be moving up to 154 lbs.Comment

It’s a bit of a stretch to claim a basic abbreviation is a racist term. There are nationalities the world over that get referred to using abbreviated terms. The Swedes, the Brits, the Scots etc etc etc.
The term itself isn’t racist. The perception that it is purely stretches back to the second world war and its use primarily in the USA. There were plenty of other genuinely racist terms used to refer to the Japanese at the time. Jap wasn’t one of them. It’s just an abbreviation. You can’t invent a racist term out of a plain abbreviation by claiming it is. Unless of course you’re a “******” - I think was the term used.
But yeah it’s a boxing forum so thus endeth the lesson.
