Cuz it is, that's how. This isn't a grammar forum, so there's no use debating the linguistic mechanics of it.

Also, as far as the thread, I'll add that Sasaki looked soft. And Jr looked big for 147. Not discrediting or hyping anybody, just basic observations.

Yeah I got confused I thought he was fighting at 154.

He will be hard to beat.

I was expecting the ref to jump in and stop it. Sasaki was essentially out on his feet and absorbing too many hard and unanswered punches.
Also disappointed Sasaki's corner didn't end it.
When I see a fighter swinging wild like that, they have very little or nothing left to offer anymore
        It's an expression of desperation.
A mature/learned corner should be able to see this.
Good thing Stanionis corner knew better.

I really feel bad for Sasaki.
He's very young to be going out like that.
If Sasaki continues to fight, he'll be relegated to being a gatekeeper at best.

        what a $tup1d $tup1d corner.

He looked a division smaller than Norman, could he move down, although Norman is a unit at 147, i wish sasaki well

I saw a tweet that said the Japanese commission bans fighters in a weight class they missed weight in?
Since Sasaki missed weight against HIraoka at 140,
that means Sasaki can no longer fight at 140.

If it's true, he can still fight at 140, but only outside of Japan.

                Hi Adrian or Jolene.

It was a good call to turn down an offer of $1.7 million to fight for $150 k instead? In what universe?

And I like how Brian Norman Jr gets all mouthy about Boots in the post fight interview now that Boots announced he will be moving up to 154 lbs.

Perhaps in the US it does. The world is a big place and you’ve been at war with most of it at one time or another.

It’s a bit of a stretch to claim a basic abbreviation is a racist term. There are nationalities the world over that get referred to using abbreviated terms. The Swedes, the Brits, the Scots etc etc etc.

The term itself isn’t racist. The perception that it is purely stretches back to the second world war and its use primarily in the USA. There were plenty of other genuinely racist terms used to refer to the Japanese at the time. Jap wasn’t one of them. It’s just an abbreviation. You can’t invent a racist term out of a plain abbreviation by claiming it is. Unless of course you’re a “******” - I think was the term used.

But yeah it’s a boxing forum so thus endeth the lesson.
