Brian Norman has chosen a safe, longer road rather than a fast, crash and burn approach against Boots, so they overpriced themselves to avoid the fight. This way he will fight 5 more opponents and build up his retirement nest egg before he has to fight a real killer and risk loosing it all. I guess most fighters do this in one way or another. Not many of them are willing to face a killer straight up - Boots is no different. Their working life is short compared to long retirement with no significant income. In betting terms, they choose multiple safe bets before they "put it all on black".

I doubt he would even get $1 million in this fight with Sasaki let alone $2 mil or more.
His pops would have bragged about it since the offer was made. I also doubt they would reveal it when asked.

The Japanese pay good money so their boxing stars fight in Japan, that's no secret. Norman Jr is an American title holder so I wouldn't doubt that the guy is making at least a million. I've heard a higher number than a million, but a million sound logical to me. Rumor has it that if he beats Sasaki and the Japanese are pleased with his performance, there will be another fight in Japan for even more money than what he is getting now.

sounds ok for where they are at
From what Eddie and Norman pops stated. Eddie felt his offer of $1.7 million was all be could offer to not lose money on the fight and pops wanted $500k more because the fight was gonna be held in Boots' hometown with hometown officials. Pops said he would accept less if the fight was held in Vegas, but Eddie's reasoning was that Boots would fill up an arena in Philly and would not sellout an arena in Vegas and the live gate money would take a hit in Vegas...

Was riding high on Norman, Jr. until he ducked Boots. Don't even get me started on Boots who took 30+ fights to fight someone with a pulse. Anything to protect the 0 now a days.

Yes, according to Eddie Hearn. He said Brian Norman boxed on the undercard of Mikaela Mayer vs Sandy Ryan for about $150k.

No official numbers are out, but...He's got a belt and Japanese aren't cheap lowballers, so yes, it could be as high as that.

He turned down a $1.7 million offer to fight Boots and instead fought Derrick Cuevas for $150k on the undercard of Mikaela Mayer vs Sandy Ryan.
