If you have a working relationship with someone – even if you're at the end of your contract, you'd expect to have a chat with them first especially if they've invested money in you, developed you and helped you get a shot at the title.

It's a strong arm tactic saying "I'm a free agent" out of the blue, it basically means submit your bids and you'll have to out bid each other.

That said, boxing is a dirty business –you're trading your health and promoters are among the shadiest in the sport.

IF Hitchins is a free agent and then Eddie is still claiming Turki will only deal with him for a Hitchins fight that is a f**** up snakey move. There is no loyalty even promoters. If fighters can get fights directly with Turki now why would they want to pay a 20% matchroom fee when not needed? Remember Turki will also throw Eddie to a side when not needed he has chosen Dana to promote Canelo Bud. That is embarassing for the boxing promoters, it also shows no one has real loyalty. And again the points you make about invested money in him, got you title shot etc is irrelevant, whilst he is signed to them that is literally the promoters job. No bonus points for doing your job

Young fighters, even as talented as Richardson, should not forget to remain humble, as much as possible.

The attention and big money starts to come in, be careful, they get "friends" they never knew they had.

By the same token, promoters should also behave. I remember when Don King used to walk over to the guy who beat his fighter, after the fight, and basically dump his boxer.

How is anyone siding with Eddie here IF Hitchins s a free agent, how is anyone mad at him for just speaking a fact? Doesn't matter what matchroom has done for him. That Matchroom promoted him well and put money up for him, yeah that is the job of the promoter he is signed too why should they get credit for doing what they are suppose to. If he is a free agent, he is a free agent. Hearn has a classic case of entitlement. He has always believed he should have while others should not.

It's true about Hearn turning Haney into a recognizable name in boxing. I would not have looked at Haney's previous history had it not for Hearn. He was a total nobody ignored by Mayweather and uncle Al Haymon.

Take it from Haney himself who was featured in an article describing his fruitful working relationship with Hearn, how no one was interested in signing him. He praised Hearn and admitted his career would not have taken off without him. Bill repeated the same on multiple occasions in interviews and press conferences.

Question is why PBC and TMT never made any offer to Haney.

Yeah that’s fair, it’s just not how I do business. If I’ve been working in partnership with someone for some time but decide to try something else, I’ll discuss it with them before I officially go out to the open market.

I work in a pretty tight and turbulent industry, you’re not on top for long - so keeping bridges unburned is paramount.

I personally think loyalty is important, and truth is, Richardson would be nowhere right now without Eddie.

On the other hand, careers are short and if there is a big Turki payday on the table, can't blame him for being a backstabber if that's the case. That's life.

But still doesn't sit right with me.

Classless on Hitchens part. Hearn a tourist promoting in America. Out of his depth. Doesn’t understand US marketplace or its dynamics.

Hearn told his DAZN paymasters that he would take over promoting in America and like all else he’s involved in, that also has become a failure. He then tried the same with Turki by becoming his official lap dog, and Turki finally figured out that him and Warren were ripping him off, and now he’s trying to figure out how to save Matchroom who’s fighters are leaving at an alarming rate.
