Comments Thread For: Dave Allen: 'I just want people to remember me as a good fighter'

No longer the joker on the undercard, Dave Allen is a heavyweight with everything to fight for ? and, just maybe, nothing left to prove.

The Wilder fight will be fun and he could win it.

Could get KO'd early too obviously which I'd imagine he accepts bur he'd definitely put himself in the situations to clip Wilder imo.

      • A good chin, some of punches he took in last fight. If you got good chin you got chance against wilder

If Wilder still has legs then he should be able to sit behind a long 1-2 all night. Who knows though, hoping for a white rhino win – would be mega for him.

I'd love to see him do it. Against Fisher he was the wise old man. He figured out what he needed to do which was impressive - but then actually doing it was just as impressive.

Wilder isn't young and isn't inexperienced, but he's certainly not wise in a boxing sense.

Beating Wilder would round out their careers quite fittingly. Allen was a much better fighter than people gave him credit for during much of his career. Whereas Wilder was a much worse fighter than people gave him credit for.

Wilder. Joshua. Get a few confidence builder wins against mediocrities. Dupe public into thinking they are relevant. Rinse. Repeat.

i find it so annoying and quite amateur when writers make entire lengthy articles about a specific boxer and cannot even be bothered to show their fight record

I don't know, do you think Dave Allen could outbox Stiverne for 12 rounds straight? Maybe but I doubt it.

I think Dave Allen is genuinely total crap. I was ringside for his fight with Lenroy Thomas, really just truly terrible, I've been rinsgside for a few of his fights. A shot David Price being one of them in a fight he was to put in there to win and get an old name on his record and ended up getting totally battered.

Don't know, maybe I'm being harsh but I just couldn't rate him less. Could he beat Wilder? Possibly because Wilder is totally shot but I still don't know if I'd pick him to win that one.
