Whyte gets a lot of criticism but he's only lost to AJ, Fury and Povetkin. The latter he was dominating the fight and got caught, he avenged the rematch.
He sparked Chisora in a way people don't do. He beat Parker
He's a little better than he gets credit for but at this stage I think it's easy work for Itauma, which is precisely why it's happening. Let's be real, If it was the Whyte that was flattening Del Boy and beating Parker and whatnot, they wouldn't be putting Moses in with him, judging by who he has been fighting.Willow The Wisp

He looked totally unmotivated against Fury. It is hard to expect anything from him now.

It's reasonable to wonder if it's coming a little too soon for Moses, and maybe just a little premature for Dillian's demise.
But I suspect this is your classic case of the promoters knowing when the right time is to make this kind of fight. And you know full well that Whyte would agree to the fight.
I think it's a really good step up with a bit of interest. Fair play to both men.

He's shopworn, past his prime, slow as molasses and has a questionable gas tank. For all of these reasons, Whyte is a good opponent for various reasons.
I expect Itauma's athleticism, explosiveness and concussive power will result in a catastrophic knockout of Whyte.

Hmmm, I wonder if Itauma knows this
