  • Richardson Hitchins: Crawford just told me on the phone that he's going to VIOLATE and SPANK CANELO!

Hitchens says in the interview that he was on the phone with Bud the other day and Bud told him that he's going to violate and spank Canelo, as if he thinks it's an easy fight! Maybe Crawford thinks Canelo is washed up after watching that Scull fight live?

Nobody has stood in range and exchanged with canelo. all these guys ran fight scared or in bivol's case he has excellent distance management and was like 32 and larger than canelo. bivol still didnt go for the KO either he must have felt canelos power and decided to stay with the dominant UD.

Crawford thinks that because his walk around weight outside of camps is 180s that he is the same size as canelo. This is not the case. When canelo was 154 crawford was at 135. Canelo is fighting guys with out of camp weights nearing 200 and those guys are afraid of his power.

I think at some point crawford will have to make a decision does he want to go out on his shield or does he want to have a moral victory of going the distance and winning a few rounds.

Floyd stood in range with him all night.

Crawford has the skills to make canelo miss

It's just if he can do it for 12 rounds or if he can stop canelo first, which is possible because Crawford won't be able to miss and while small he does hit a lot harder than Floyd

Not true. Bivol literally put his head against Canelo and dared him to hit him in the later rounds. Then slapped Canelo twice, when Canelo did is his typical left hook to the head. And when Bivol sat down he said to his coach 'I want him to throw punches at me'. You don't say that if you are the least bit worried about your opponents power
Also people seem to forget there was another fighter who didn't run at all......John Ryder

Canelo Alvarez's power is overrated 'He is a solid and strong puncher, but I would never? Rate Alvarez as a monster power. Opponents are more intimidated by the speed, accuracy and technique of Alvarez than the share brute force of his punches. But that is an aspect of Canelo Alvarez's game, which Terrence Crawford may be able to nullify and negate. This is due to Crawford having a mass of experience these past few years, competing against fighters who in terms of speed and skill? Are not far away from Canelo Alvarez's standard'.

It is common knowledge that the lower weight classes, tend to most of the time have more innately skilled fighters. This is because, that is the area of each fighter's game which usually separates the best fighters in those divisions. It is not the skill level of Canelo Alvarez which is Crawford's biggest challenge to overcome; it is his brute strength and power. But as I have just stated? It is not going to be clear how much stronger Crawford will be at 168 pounds, as Crawford has throughout his entire career been a fighter who has weight drained himself extensively'.

Note: I still for sure make Canelo Alvarez the favourite to win, but there are details in this match up 'Which are going to have a big affect on fight night i.e. such as factoring in how much better conditioned, and stronger Terrence Crawford is going to be at 168 pounds. For the first time in Crawford's career, he will not be weight draining himself extensively. Maybe this factor aids in Crawford negating the power and brute strength of Alvarez. Then when it comes to pure skill and technical ability, I would imagine Terrence Crawford would back himself as being a better fighter than Alvarez in all areas'.

I am not trying to insinuate that Canelo Alvarez is lacking skills 'Alvarez is most likely skill for skill one of the best fighters Crawford has ever fought. If we look through Crawford's resume, you have? Errol Spence Junior, Kell Brook, those are some of the highly skilled fighters he has fought. Although those fighters were not at their absolute peak. Crawford was able to separate himself by quite distance from his opponents, especially against Spence Junior'.

To conclude: I just think there are details in this match up, mainly relating to each fighters training and preparations 'Which are greatly going to affect the performances on fight night. Canelo Alvarez is without any doubt the favourite to win, but? There is a unknown factor in this fight, and that is? How the 168 pound weight limit is going to positively or negatively affect Terrence Crawford's overall conditioning. I personally think the 168 pound weight limit, will have a positive effect. Terrence Crawford is potentially going to be the strongest and most well prepared he has been for a title fight for many years' etc.

That's the biggest question for me...how does Crawford handle Canelo's POWER? I've no doubt Bud has the skill to potentially outbox him but we've already seen him do the stanky leg against Gamboa and get dropped by Kava so how does he handle a fully fledged 168lber's power (who has fought as high as 175lbs)? He also looked a little gunshy against Madrimov after feeling the weight of his punches.
