Cotto was unbeaten and with HBO in 2008, unification should have been easy but Floyd didn't want it. He only fought Cotto when he had no leverage and lost value due to losses, and no longer with Arum.
Williams would have beat Floyd 120-108.

Margarito was “in decline after so many real fights”? lol
In 2004, Margarito gets beat by Daniel Santos. In 2007 he gets beat by Williams. He then wins three straight fights including his “great handwrap free” Cotto fight before he gets destroyed by Mosley.

Then by some miracle, when Floyd beats up Mosley, you proceed to tell us Mosley was washed up.

Tszyu “was at the end” vs Hatton in 2005, the same year Floyd moved to 140 and yet somehow, Floyd ducked him. So much logic there.

Would you like me to send you verifiable links of Bob Arum stating that he will never allow Cotto to fight Floyd? Or perhaps maybe look it up yourself? This is despite the facts you are actually stating that Floyd fought Cotto when Cotto was no longer with Arum. You are acknowledging a fact and then dispütďng it. Man oh Man! Unreal stuff here.

William could not beat Quintana 120-108 and somehow he would have beaten Floyd?

You know what, since you say Floyd would have beaten Cotto, Margarito and PAC in 2008 because I say so.

Floyd would never fight a guy like Santos. Mosley played soft for Floyd, and still almost knocked him out by accident. Divorce had him compromised to take the payday. Williams career was ruined Haymon giving him all junk fights.

Can you name one HOF guy that Santos beat? lol. Man oh man! Incredible stuff here.

“Mosley played soft for Floyd”! Jčsüs! The excuses are unreal!
“Almost knocked him out” lol another one.
While we’re at it, Hatton “almost dropped Floyd”
            Khan almost knocked out Maidana
            PAC almost knocked out Marquez.
            Maidana almost knocked out Broner
            Floyd almost knocked out Marquez
Jermaine Taylor almost knocked out Kelly Pavlik
            Forrest almost knocked out Mosley

I could go on and on. But of course, for Mosley, it was the divorce thing that derailed him.

And Williams career was ruined by Haymon but Bob Arum was great at making all the big fights.

Santos was a really good talented boxer but a B/C sider, awkward, tricky, the kind of guy they feed to fighters they want to get knocked off. And the kind they protect A siders like Floyd from. Santos was never gonna be anything but an expendable pawn on the boxing chessboard. The installed money makers were protected from guys like Santos.

Hopkins on the other hand, was an enemy of the establishment, so they forced him to fight Santos type awkward threats like Echols, Robert Allen 3x!, John David Jackson, Morrade Hakkar,

Paul Williams was another great fighter, but used by the estab as a pawn unfortunately. He would have killed Floyd easily, much worse than Castillo did.

Castillo “killed” Floyd?? This one is new. A fight that most thought was very close with some giving Castillo the win but according to you, it was a one-sided beat down?

Floyd gave Castillo a rematch AND beat him. Period. If it was a one-sided beat down, why couldn’t Castillo replicate the same blueprint?

I’m going to stop with the condescending responses because you’ve been respectful despite your misplaced dislike of Floyd.

So, let’s just go with facts. Floyd moved up to 140 in 2005. When exactly would he have fought Santos or even a “prime” Oscar or Mosley? Oscar and Mosley fought in 2000 at WW while Floyd was fighting at 130/135.

Williams would have been a difficult fight for Floyd for sure. The size difference was staggering. But Williams did get beat by Quintana, a nobody in the grand scheme of things.

I agree with you 100% about Hopkins.

When was Floyd a one punch ko artist

Oh yeah I forgot when he sucker punched that c fighter Ortiz.

It's obvious to everybody except for Floyd boys that he ducked him for a reason

It's plausible Castillo played soft in the rematch. Floyd was being groomed as the long term franchise, Castillo was already locked in as a B side. Williams was flat vs Quintana, I believe because he knew he was being wasted as a pawn and that Haymon's top priority was Floyd and Williams was only ever going to be a pawn. He was never going to get the shot to slay Floyd. So that kind of hopelessness I believe affected him in the Quintana fight and later Martinez. Great fighters have trouble getting up for mediocre opponents. Williams was a great fighter who was mismanaged and mistreated by Haymon. He would have ate Floyd alive, or as his trainer George Peterson said, "Put Floyd in a cematary."

I don't dislike Floyd so much but I know the truth. Carefully Protected fighter.
