Left Hook Louie, people always talk about the corner after round 12 but I think more important was the corner after round 5. Because, if you look at round 5 SRL actually looks lost, abject, beaten, like he knows he can’t win. Come out for round 6 and, even though Thomas Hearns had a perfect 100 % Knockout record he stood right in front of Hearns and proved Bread’s point, in any fight the puncher is not necessarily the one who punches hardest, the puncher is the guy who can take the other guy’s punches better. SRL realised in rounds 6& 7 he could take Tommy’s punches and Tommy just couldn’t take his. Tommy rallied and swept rounds 9-12 but by this stage SRL knew he could bring the power to take Tommy down. I never saw SRR, but I am prepared to believe he was best ever. I can only say, in my lifetime, SRL was best ever and no-one came close

I get the feeling we won't see Bread working Plant's corner again. I blame it on Plant. He is a ****y doofus and Bread's comments after the fight tell me that the relationship between them professionally is likely over.

Gotta give give Breadman props for not airing anything in his mailbag. I'm sure he got alot of Plant related questions.
