I have to agree with Breadman about Leonard's performance in the first fight with Hearns.
SRL was being thoroughly dominated strategically and physically and I thought he was gonna get stopped.
His left eye was swelling shut fast. Then Angelo Dundee told Leonard between Rounds 12 and 13, "You're blowing it!".
Leonard goes into Beast Mode and in Round 14 Leonard stops Hearn defenseless on the ropes.
That was when I knew SRL wasn't just a special fighter but had ATG potential.

I like the idea of a two-year ban and a six figure fine for the first PED offense.

And Bread is right that culpability and intent shouldn’t matter. If you test positive then you get hit with the ban, no explanations or excuses. End of story.

Do we really have to put so much emphasis on official decisions in black and white when assessing fighters? If so, then Pernell Whitaker’s ‘loss’ to Jose Luis Ramirez really was a stain on his career.. Loma-Haney was obviously way more competitive, but Breadman seems to acknowledge that if just two of the judges gave that fight to Loma, a verdict which it appears he would have been happy with, then he would regard Loma as a legit all time great. I find that a curious position to take when one of those guys that we’re supposed to outsource such judgement to couldn’t even reward Loma when he really started to make Haney his ***** in the 10th round.

Musta been too painful to talk about. Prolly cuz he and Caleb got some unresolved issues at the moment and he doesn't want to make things even more difficult. Hey, it's his privilege to not talk about.

What about Mickey Bey, Whyte, Benn, Miller. Bread has selective memory.

I really enjoyed reading Bread this week. I totally agree with him on Haney v Garcia. I have been horrified by all the idiots defending Garcia and victim-blaming Haney on this site. I also thought his comments on PEDs are **** on and also quite ‘tactful’, although, TBBH, if you need to juice and recycle to beat Tommy LaManna you probably need to look at alternative careers. I don’t totally agree about Lomachenko. Certainly he could have carried on making 130, but if you’re a boxing historian, which I’m sure Lomachenko is, being undisputed at 130 is not the same as being champion at the same division as Gans, Leonard, Canzoneri, Williams, Duran, Whittaker, Chavez etc

Why doesnt Bread mention Bey tearing off heads with 400x testosterone or Benn who hasnt KOd anybody since he got caught. I dont like cheaters and I dont condone just because they look like me.

Benn, who is mixed, doesn’t look remotely like Bread! I think Bread would have to be a bit careful naming Benn because he has always denied the allegations and Hearn has a pack of attack lawyers like Rottweilers in suits. Yes, you and I can agree it is blindingly obvious Benn was doing PEDs in the days when he could make 147 and was getting KOs, but I don’t think Boxingscene would want, or allow, Bread to allege that. As I say, he was very tactful about Charlo.
