And rock is doing just fine. I assume the Americans running that particular hall of fame are just unfamiliar with bands who are not in the US charts.
I am a proud American. But I am equally proud to be a citizen of the world. I too love Rock n Roll. I used to go to concerts regularly, and got to see The Beatles, the Stones, Zep, Eagles, the Dead, The Who, Pink Floyd, Bowie, Etc. Etc.
Born at the right time for being a fan.

Rock is doing OK like Blues, Jazz and Big Band are doing OK.
It's still beloved, still popular and plenty of people are still making music. But it's not what dominates the charts in the US or the UK anymore, and it ain't the main thing that the kids under 20 listen to.

    Do you disagree?

You're asking the wrong. The correct one is: does it matter?

The answer is no. The commercial appeal of something is not indicative of its value. The 'artists' dominating the charts at the moment include people like Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and Mylie Cyrus - whom I have zero interest in.

I don't follow what the US Rock HoF does but the fact they're adapting their criteria to remain relevant indicates their lack of integrity.

What a foolish thing to say.

Having said this, I should point out too, that I myself have traditionally had a fair number of grave disagreements with some of the calls made by the Hall.
While I influence the institution, no single individual runs it, which is as it should be.

But Remember that the ONLY thing being aggrandized in Canastota is BOXING, and if we don't do that; who's going to? Some Poorly informed fans? Some promotional company?

The US, as the absolute ruler of the world going on 155 years and the place where the majority of modern boxing history was financed and took place, it is quite obviously the most appropriate place for the center of this, the first international professional sport, to be celebrated. And, everyone is here doing precisely that.

If you can inform me of an alternative method to "handing out awards based on subjective opinion", through a ********ic construct tapping the knowledge of the world's top historians and journalists; we're all ears.
        Talk to me.

There are MANY things about Sports, Combat Sports and Boxing that we ALL Can be and Should be critical of; but the ONE place that honors the Sport and it's Heroes isnt one of them.

Not for any aficionado worth his opinion.

        Got it straight now?

LMFAO if its run by "peopel who know their boxing history" why the hell did they pick Vinnie Paz, what the hell did he do?

they are as worthless as the ABC belts

The other guys point stands, it doesnt matter if you write a dissertation on it, his point is valid
