Herol Graham never boxed Nunn. And what the hell are Anne Sophie Mathis and those other women doing in there? Women’s boxing, especially then, was so pathetic. The opponents were terrible, it was a joke. You’ve got actual greats like Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank and so many American champions who aren’t in there yet but these women who did nothing of note are in?? All this woke crap is too much.

Wilfredo Vasquez isnt in, nor Eubank or Benn, but Vinny Paz? You really can't blame guys like Broner who can really say if Paz got in, why not me?

Not sure why anyone cares about this self-aggrandising US institution which hands out awards based on subjective opinion. Fundamentally no different to the sanctioning bodies and even less relevant.

Mainly, because it is ran by people who know their boxing history, and take their responsibility as the ONE AND ONLY Stewards of boxing history quite seriously.

What a foolish thing to say.

Having said this, I should point out too, that I myself have traditionally had a fair number of grave disagreements with some of the calls made by the Hall.
While I influence the institution, no single individual runs it, which is as it should be.

But Remember that the ONLY thing being aggrandized in Canastota is BOXING, and if we don't do that; who's going to? Some Poorly informed fans? Some promotional company?

The US, as the absolute ruler of the world going on 155 years and the place where the majority of modern boxing history was financed and took place, it is quite obviously the most appropriate place for the center of this, the first international professional sport, to be celebrated. And, everyone is here doing precisely that.

If you can inform me of an alternative method to "handing out awards based on subjective opinion", through a ********ic construct tapping the knowledge of the world's top historians and journalists; we're all ears.
              Talk to me.

There are MANY things about Sports, Combat Sports and Boxing that we ALL Can be and Should be critical of; but the ONE place that honors the Sport and it's Heroes isnt one of them.

Not for any aficionado worth his opinion.

              Got it straight now?

Why are Halls of Fame/award ceremonies of any importance in the first place?

I love rock music and couldn't care less what the US Rock & Roll Hall of Fame thinks about the music I like.

A: Because great boxers deserve to be remembered.

Rock n Roll was the predominant form of popular music in the west from 1955 to 2005, but no longer is; and the folks in Cleveland need to start considering a name change for their hall, as enshrinees increasingly are performers who's work is decidedly NOT rock n roll.

                  Apples & Oranges.

No, you just missed the point.

And rock is doing just fine. I assume the Americans running that particular hall of fame are just unfamiliar with bands who are not in the US charts.
