  • I really liked Loma as a fighter, really hated his fanbase.

Guys who always wanted to pity him for chosing to move up in weight, hype his amatuer record (which doesn't matter in the pros) and say none of his losses should have been losses. Always put me off.

He was a good fighter, fan friendly and tested himself. That was good enough for me.

He lost to Teo. Salido was a mess of a fight and Haney I had a draw.

Definitely one of the greatest and most original champions we ever saw. The establishment bias against Easter Europeans stifled his career like it did Golovkin. Loma had more dimensions than Roy, Pacquiao, Leonard, Duran and Hopkins combined. Loma was a creative artist fighter. Too bad we didn't get to see him ten count Tank which he would have done brutally.

That's usually a sign you're spending too much time on the internet more than anything else.

Haha truth. Coming to this board, especially as a younger lad, you need to get ready. Down some energy drinks and get ready to rage and flex your fingers on the keyboard.

I took a nice break from the forum at some point. I think I went months, if not a year of no posting just because of how busy I was and I think I was going through a boxing rut of not interested in a lot of the matchups unless they were really good matchups.

Nowadays as I'm back on and a tad older, the arguments are less anger and mostly roll eyes and move on. Most of the anger arguments are old battles that just don't go away which in some ways is telling. It means, nobody changed anyone else's mind from years ago where those same argument existed.

Goes for pretty much every fighter/athlete/politician/celebrity.

That being written, most the fanbases aren't that bad either, you just notice the handful that are part of the fanbase that are annoying. Most Loma fans are just normal people and boxing fans. Same as anyone else.

Exactly this. Great fighter. But constant 396-1 promo and getting big fights early did wonders for him that a part of his stan fan base thought he can do no wrong regardless of how many losses he ended up having. Part of his stan fan base even give him more credit than Usyk. Usyk is what a lot of Loma fans think Loma is. Only difference is Usyk actually cleared up his division, fought everyone went up and did the same. Loma did not. He has been inactive of his own accord he could have fought Tank could have fought Shakur last year or even now. Never won Haney and Teo. Rigo he beat a fighter basically 2 divisions below him. He doesn't have the same ambition. No world champion who claims i have no motivation and holds belt hostage should be given extra credit.
