Boxing-forums fans are a critical bunch.
However; It's instructive to note that even the simplest people hold strong opinions.

Fury won the single and only Heavyweight Championship of the world by acing another long-term champion and completely mastering him, when Klitschko had shown no signs of deterioration prior; and fought the 2nd best of his era, the era of modern giants, THREE times.

Joshua, Ruiz, Ortiz, Parker, Zhang, Whyte were outlier contenders who didn't or couldn't step up to that level, and Usyk and Dubois snuck in at the end of the 2015 - 2025 era.

Head to head at the time of Fury - Wilder II, Fury would be a handful for any human who ever walked the Earth under the only hand to hand combat rules that history deems matter.

It's more than an adequate legacy to be called great.

Fans all have opinions ranging from considered to ridiculous; a sampling illustrated across this thread; but those don't amount to a hill of beans.
