Is all this talk about Froch having a "granite" chin a joke?

Margarito had a granite chin, Mosley has a granite chin, Mercer, Ibeabuchi and Tua had a granite chin, Vitali has a granite chin, Hopkins has a granite chin, but what I have seen from Froch in his not two fights is far from solid oak, and resembles particle board. I mean Taylor while he has respectable power is not a big puncher and he dropped Froch with one shot whereas Pavlik who gets hurt regularly was dropped with about 15. Also last night Direll who is far from a guy with power stunned Froch in the 10th and had him on ***** street in the 11th. I can give him a pass for Taylor, but guys with chins should not have to be cautious of Dirells power and get badly hurt. Trust me on this, Froch will lose by stoppage at least one time in this tournament.

Agree definitly. Dirrell had Froch on wobbly legs from precise shots. Froch's legs were still damaged going into round 11 aswell I thought.

I think it was more the speed and the fact he didnt see it coming. I dont think he was that hurt though

I think Dirrell's power is under rated because of how he fights. He throws sharp accurate punches.

I am not calling him a huge puncher but he does not have marshmellows for hands either, I am sure he hits hard enough to get respect.

The accumilation caught up with him late. He was really hurt at the bell in the 10th and in the 11th round.

Another BS thread. Any fighter can get rocked by a good punch from a competent opponent. What matters is whether they recover, or go down.

God forbid you actually get hurt by getting hit in the face... ROFL.

Don't call it a granite chin then, good chin, yes, granite chin, no.
