Leo has a much better resume than Espinoza.

Does he? I am not so sure about that. It is debatable who has the better resume, but not sure there is that big of a difference. Espinoza beat Ramirez and some recent tough contenders in Chirino Sanchez and Edward Vazquez. Could it easily be better? Of course.

Aware Angelo Leo is a two division champion, but to be fair he was around a lackluster super bantamweight division where there was only Figueroa and Fulton around. He got vacant belt against a undefeated fighter in paper but quite lack luster fighter in Tramaine Williams.

So far his most recognizable wins are Luis Alberto Lopez who was going on a pretty good streak beating Warrington, Joet, Conlan and Abe. (I miss watching him fight honestly) and the game veteran in Tomoki Kameda.

Hope a unification between the two at Top Rank happens.

I like Leo, but he wasn’t fighting at world level in 2016. He fought a few decent journeyman between 17-19. 2020-2021 is when he started on the world level stage.

Angelo has fought Fulton, Venado, Kameda, Tremaine, and Alameda.

Espinoza has fought Robeisy, Chirino, and Vazquez. So Angelo has a slight better resume but not by much.

Those names are not equivalent to each other. The KO win of Lopez by Leo is, by a wide margin, the best win either guy has.

I would argue a road win against a ranked former titlist in Kameda is just as good as either of Espinoza's wins over Ramirez, too.

Those statistics prove do prove that Leo has more experienced having faced tougher tests, but I don't think beating journeymen should be that prevalent when it comes to the quality of the resume compared to fighting ranked contenders and former/current Champions.

I don't think neither is that that far better than the other. Angelo Leo is (3-1, 1 KO)(that 1 KO is pretty good though) in championship fights and Rafael Espinoza is (4-0, 3 KOs) in championship fights. Leo fought two champions (1-1) and Espinoza fought the same champion twice.

Both Ramirez and Lopez were in a 13 streak of wins each, Ramirez beating Satoshi Shimizu, Isaac Dogboe, and Abraham Nova in comparison to Lopez's streak that I mentioned earlier. He also stopped a tough Argentinian former lightweight that Isacc Cruz couldn't stop and Brandon Benitez, Benitez had a good run recently, having a split decision win over former champion Xu Can and stopped Rigoberto Hermosillo, who had a controversial split decision loss to Mark Magsayo.

If either were to beat someone like Nick Ball and Stephen Fulton. That make a notable difference then. Though I don't think Leo has improved that much to say he be able to beat Fulton in a rematch. It be interesting if he fought Carlos Castro who gave Nery and Fulton all they could handle.
