I think Boro’s comment is worrying & he isn’t the only person on here to say there is something wrong with Dubois. Brutally, using 1970s language, he isn’t the full shilling. Why does that matter? I love watching boxing but people get dead, get blind, get paraplegic for our amusement. Morally, you can’t justify that. You can say, on a utilitarian basis, that if you ban boxing you will just get illegal fights, but that is a weak argument. The strongest argument against banning boxing is that the participants enter into it voluntarily, knowing & understanding the risks. Generally, I think that is why I would not support banning boxing, but I don’t think Dubois does know or understand the risks. His father has told him to be a boxer &, in his child-like state, he has accepted it. I don’t like the Dubois situation, it scares me.

I don’t think there is any need to rush Itauma.

I don’t think they rushed Mike Tyson because, necessarily, they wanted him to be the youngest ever HW champion. They made Tyson fight twice a month because Cus D’Amato knew that if Tyson wasn’t training or fighting he was liable to get into situations. Like the one that lead to Naomi Campbell being rescued by one of the 20th century’s most admired philosophers. If you fight twice a month & win, in the 1990s, you are bound to enter contender stage very early because, truth be told, there isn’t a deep pool, compared to, say, the years 1920-1960 when most prospects fought twice a month. Having reached top contender status what was team Tyson gonna say? ‘No, you go first’?
