Lopez would be a billionaire if he got paid by the words out of his mouth.

Boots style is perfect for Lopez honestly. Boots comes forward throwing and his defense is his biggest weakness. He gets hit. Lopez is terrible against guys who move away and don't engage. He is a natural counterpuncher, he hits hard and he is fast and accurate.

Apparently Lopez sees this clearly. It reminds me of the Loma fight. Lopez runs his mouth and comes off as an idiot at times with the self promotion. In reality he is a quick thinking fighter who sees what he needs to do and picks his opponents carefully. Loma was hurt and had he not been it might have gone differently. But Lopez fights smart.

All the guys saying Boots demolishes him.....Boots gets hit alot. He may well beat Lopez but Lopez is better than Boots comp, alot better. You may well be surprised. And I'm not even a big Lopez fan. But the dude gets up for big opponents.

I'd love to see Lopez's big mouth shutup for once. Please put this on the Tank Roach rematch card and that will be a hell of months period of boxing. I don't think it happens though.

I say that because there’s no way he would have gotten an offer like that from either Matchroom or Top Rank.

If this fight does get done then Teo is gonna get fucked up real bad!

This is neither a good physical, athletic or style match up
            For Teofimo as well.

He has no youth advantage like he did against Loma 38 Taylor 34 and Barboza 33.

Likewise, Boots is the more athletic and naturally wider of the two. In addition, he can box and is young too at 27.
            Lomachenko is 37 today

However, this time I don’t get it. Why is Team Lopez even doing this? Boots is too high risk and low reward.

Don’t they understand that Jaron “Boots” Ennis would stomp kick the living shit out of him?

Unlike, Taylor and Barboza who were a lot older and shopworn; Ennis is also young and is even more athletic than Teofimo Lopez is.

Devin Haney would be my preferred route if I was managing him. For one, he is beatable and lastly, he is the bigger box office Draw among casuals than Jaron Ennis.
I agree that Boots is a very tough fight, but I don't agree that he's more athletic than Teo. I can see a path to victory for Teo via his superior speed and agility.

I’d watch it. This year hasn’t had many decent fights. A 60/40 fight would be a nice change of pace from the usual showcase fights we’ve been getting

That is only just one aspect of Ennis’ game though. Boots could also fight off the back foot as well and has a granite chin.

I just cannot see Lopez lasting the distance. I can just see Boots doing a real paint job on him. While wearing him down from attrition. Likewise, Teo gets hit often as well.

Teo’s lack of size and power make this particular bout a mismatch; At least on paper it does. He can run but he cannot hide.

Jaron has both the height and reach advantage over Teofimo Lopez and he could also box. He can defeat Teo from a distance.

He doesn’t have to hunt him down in order to win. If Teo decides that he wants to run around the ring.

Then Jaron could just as easily feed him a diet of solid body punches. Which will inevitably break him down.
