I didn't say PBC couldn't afford them. I said they would request more money than Ramirez. Smith/Yarde have greater name value than Ramirez, and have the option of fighting each other; Smith now holds the WBO interim title. Therefore, it's more likely that they'll overestimate their marquee value. Ramirez is likely to take less money because he'll value the opportunity more. My assumption is that the PPV-buy difference between Benavidez vs. Smith/Yarde/Ramirez would be negligible, so what's the point of potentially overpaying Smith/Yarde? PBC will probably want to save money and get Ramirez.

Who cares if Smith and Yarde would cost more than a random bum? PBC would pay it because it would get them a bigger PPV and because Benavidez wants to fight top opponents rather than waste his time fighting bums. Why do you think he chose to fight Morrell rather than Jessie Hart? He wants top names not bums. sheesh these narratives.

I know you're passionate about Benavidez but his team messed up here. He was in line to face the trilogy winner but his incompetent team pushed for the email belt and now he's burned all bridges.

Was he guaranteed the trilogy winner? Nope, so being 'inline' means nothing. What's stopping the trilogy winner fighting David next anyway? Bivol or Beterbiev wins, and they can fight David next May. What's the difference?

I don’t like Yarde’s physique, muscles make you slow & use up oxygen so you tire. I’m inclined to say Callum wins but he has to be so careful. Yarde punches like a MoFo, he really could punch holes in concrete. Smith knows one mistake & he’ll be looking up at the lights. If Smith is still there after 6 he will take it.
Strongest guy I ever saw at 175 (or any weight really) was Dennis ’the Hackney Rock’ Andries & he didn’t have rippling muscles like Yarde. His whole body just looked like he was granite, & he was scary. I remember him being interviewed & he said growing up in Guyana he was out cutting cane with a machete when he was 5. Dennis would routinely go into gyms & bench press weights that guys that were, like 220 or 230ib dare not touch, & he wasn’t a ‘weight bully’, for almost his whole career he made 175 easily. Just, different level hard.
