Too many it's only happened 3 times. Donaire, nery, and cardenas. All three happened cause of being careless and still dominated all 3 fights. Inoue said he got careless cause fight vs going exactly he thought it go in 1st round so thats why he rushed in during the 2nd round. But inoue knows he's gonna have to keep distance and box more against MJ, nakatani, and 126 guys because he knows those are tough fights.

Also cardenas is puncher as he throws brutal hooks not only that but cardenas is basically featherweight in disguise. Most of his fights have taken place at 126 and 130. Inoue fought very reckless and I don't think he'll be doing that. He'll learn from this fight and get better.
Excellent point in regards to Cardenas regularly fighting at higher weight classes.
Also a very legitimate point in regards to Inoue not being profoundly affected by that counter hook.
I watch a fighters legs when they get dropped hard like that. The legs tell the real story.
He had his feet underneath him and he Pretty much got up with the physical demeanor of a fighter in complete control of his faculties and balance.
Cardenas hits hard and that counter hook was one of the most fastest and accurate I’ve seen since Felix Trinidad.
The Japanese fighter took it WELL.
He looked initially buzzed but by the time the ref got to the count of six, you could see he was already back in the zone.
He has that quality most of the legends had and that is very impressive recuperative ability.
Thats what seperates the men from the boys and pretenders from legitimate all time champions.
He has that.
That being said he needs to be smarter and box behind that jab , something he does quite well.
If he does that he will be even more harder to beat.
But this kamikaze thing he admitted that he likes to do, can also be dangerous.
He’s giving guys an unnecessary opportunity that he doesn’t have to.
Should he decide to go to 126 it would be wise for him to consider that. I’m sure his team has probably got the memo.

Add to that,
there's a video I posted of Joel Diaz, saying that it was just a flash knockdown.
Experience knows.
You can count on Inoue's team to go back to correcting that bad habit.

Here we go again with the goal post shifting. Breadman described it as mental gymnastics where people will switch scenarios like age, venue, opponent, fighter’s prime etc to get a fighter to lose (hypothetically). What you really want is for Inoue to lose so you can validate your opinion about him being careless.
The same is being said about Boots because “he gets hit a lot and against a huge puncher, he’ll get stopped”.
Personally, I think Divino Espinoza could give Naoya major problems at 126,possibly ending his undefeated streak but thats just my personal take.

If you are a regular reader on this platform, you will have seen the same exact pessimistic predictions about Boots.
Meanwhile, Both Boots and Inoue continue to lay to waste all the new boogeymen that get propped up.
I haven’t read anything about Inoue’s plans to move up to 126. People are just speculating. He does not need to move up. That’s all. And if he does move up, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. If he gets beat, so what?letsbox10 likes this.
