Naoya Inoue's resume

I admit I can’t project a lot of the guys at the small weight.
But he is consistently fighting guys ranked in the TRBR top 10. He fights mandatories and other champions way more than he does cherry picks.
I don’t know. Donaire is great no doubt. But imo Inoue is special.Comment

that’s exactly what it is. It’s like the last guest Shawn Porter had on his podcast (some local rapper or something) and he was giving his thoughts on the whole weekend’s card (Garcia, Canelo, Inoue). When they got to talking about Inoue, that dude was saying how he has not been convinced that Inoue is the real deal…that he felt Inoue would have to fight a “real” fighter.
When Shawn pressed him on it and asked, “Still not convinced? Who would he have to fight to convince you? Do you have anyone in mind?”
And the guy kinda went, “Uhhhh, I dunno. It’s just that I’m not sold. He’d have to fight someone like……Tank.”
Shawn was polite with him, but he kinda’ in a subtle way let him know, “Yeah? You think so…? You KNOW Tank is way above his weight class, right?”
What a tool that guest was.
Have Seniesa Estrada come out of retirement and have her move up to fight Gabriela Fundora while we’re at it.

Scull was also "ranked"

Every div has to have "ranked" fighters.
Ranked and utterly forgettableComment

Ok. He was 8th in the rankings. He got the belt Canelo was forced to vacate so we understand the fight.
Also, it depends on the division. Being 8th in a deep division, like right now JMW or JWW, is much different than in a weak division like 168.
I think you are shortchanging Inoue’s opposition significantly.Comment
