However, running is still no excuse for not cutting off the ring though. If Canelo is truly the fighter and face of boxing like everyone says he is.

Then he is going to have to do better and put forth more of an effort than what he did last night. I thought his performance was both shameful and disgraceful.

This was by far the toughest competition Canelo has faced inside the168 lbs division.

is it trending? up and coming fighters will consider it a legitimate strategy seeing devin haney and the likes of scull at championship level running like ******. boxing officials need to impose harsh penalties. points taken, purse's witheld, disqualification a ban. draw a line in the sand.
muay thai in thailand. the ref will step in early, 1st round even, pull them together and command them to fight. cut it off before it ruins boxing even more
What all this mean to say is that Canelo went into this bout both unprepared, unfocused, unsharp and undisciplined.
It didn't look like he trained at all for this match.

He just showed up for the money. Don't just blame Scull. Blame them both. Canelo has had more than 20 years of professional boxing experience in his career. So he should know how to cut off the ring when he has to by now.

I thought he did a good job at cutting off the ring. scull was just a very good runner and his fast feet. soon as he's cornered, he turns around and switches and repeats the running again. canelo has slow feet so it doesn't matter how good canelo cuts the ring off, scull is faster on his feet than canelo.

Yeah, boxing has to put a stop to these h o m o, safety first runners ruining the sport. The rules have to be updated to penalize the runners & huggers, or start a new league or something.

Running and shooting at the same time is a great skill

along with coming forward with defensive discipline to counter

give me the percentage!!! how much running vs shooting

because what we saw in the haney fight was 95% running and 5% actual fighting. they set some compubox record for least amount of punches in a championship

You are right. I agree and I get all that. However, Team Alvarez knew what type of fighter they were facing.

They knew his game plan before ever stepping inside of the ring with him. Eddie Reynoso dropped the ball here.

This was easily and by far Canelo’s worst performance at 168. It looked eerily similar to his fight with Erislandy Lara.
