These are one of the elements of the fight that you just have to leave up to your imagination until the rematch happens. No excuses. However Pacman was winning the fight until the he got cut. That is he won 1st round, 3rd round, and the early round before the headbutt. Alot of people thought that Morales won big but most agree that the fight was close. I would love to see the rematch expecting Morales to win but knowing Pacman has a extremely good chance. they should do it again if not sooner, later.
One last question on Morales-Pac

The cut had to defitnetly affect PAC, but would it have changed the outcome if it wouldnt of happend, I DONT THINK SO. Great effort on PAC'S part. but the better man won that night.Comment

I have been thinking of these scenarios-
1. If both were fighting with 2 good eyes, Erik would still win on points.
2. If Erik had the cut and Pac was fighting with 2 good eyes, Pac would have delivered his punches with more accuracy and speed. Add to that the fact that Pac delivered MORE punches (as shown by stats), it was possible for him to win AT LEAST on points. Or even a TKO.
A Las Vegas doctor said the gash "definitely affected the depth of perception" of Pacquiao and that was why his punches often fell short of their target".
Anyway, Erik fought a great fight and nobody will take him lightly from now on.

Good fight and pac lost no excuses. However People are saying that the cut is nothing and it did not impair pac's abilities. I want them to try fighting in the ring with lots of blood trickling from their head while being hit over and over again.Comment

But blood is a lot of salt and even a drop in the eye would be painful. What more if it's a continuous flow (not just a trickle)? It would certainly impair your vision and affect your focus and concentration.

okay people here is a real answer:
Had Erik been cut over his left eye it would not have made the same difference as it affected pac. why?...the jab.
Pac couldn't see out of his right eye. what punches were comming toward that side of the eye? it was morales' stiff jab (and occaisional right hook) that was followed by his right straight.
now lets' flip the situation...
does pac have a jab? the type of jab that stings and sets one at a distance? or does pac have a 'feeler' jab to set up his left straight right cross combo?...better yet...did morales have to worry about the 'mailla ice' right hook? nope.
again...barerra had the blueprint to beat morales...short hooks and uppercuts to the body and to the head while keeping in close to not allow punching room for erik. Manny just doesn't have that...yet..Comment

You guys also have to take into consideration the momentums was in Eriks favor up to the cut. And the examination itself took like quite a few time and let pac rest a bit.Comment

I scored the fight 116 - 112 Morales. It wasn`tg an ass kicking, but it was a convincing masterful win for Morales. There is no need for a rematch. pac should take some time off and recover then return to the featherweigt division against some softer opponents!Comment

Great analysis! But Erik won only on points and those jabs of his played a major part on that win. Now my question is what if it was Erik who was handicapped with one bad eye like what Pac had, would his jabs still be that accurate? And with Pac having 2 good eyes, wouldn't he be able to avoid those jabs and at the same time, land more punches of his own?Originally posted by cvtokay people here is a real answer:

Well, I guess everything's left to one's imagination.
