Bam is a future P4P #1. I have him fourth behind Inoue, Usyk, and Crawford already and he's much younger than those guys.

Jermell fighting Vergil off a 2 year layoff is not an "immense showdown". Vergil will pulverize whatever is left of him.

I kind of see it the same way. What I find interesting is that Vergil is taking on tough assignments but he never fights for a title, the same as when he was at 147. I read an article on another site where Oscar did not want him to fight Mutrazaliev (because you cannot fight a killer after killer after killer each time out).

...and Jermell is no longer a "killer", the lion has been domesticated. It's wise matchmaking from Oscar and GBP's matchmakers: Jermell is a name, he's still considered "lineal" at 154 by many, but he's not as threatening as the other current champions/contenders. Jermell is also a Texan, and GBP would hope that Vergil stopping Jermell (something Canelo couldn't do) at 154 in a Texas venue would increase his marquee value. Oscar used to be a superstar, and he knows an advantageous matchup when he sees it. GBP needs Garcia, Ortiz and Zepeda to succeed. Vergil beating Jermell would be marketed as Vergil's coming-out party.

I wouldn't mind seeing Vergil vs Janibek.

Vergil is coming for hand surgery so that’s understandable.

A fight with Jermell would sell well in Texas.

Although Charlo isn't likely the killer he once seemed, and will have ring rust, that's both far from the soft touch that we've seen from others, and also a fight that ought to sell well in Texas and build his brand further, if he can win. Smart matchmaking IMO.
