This is the right thing to do and frankly, in boxing I'm surprised whenever that happens. Tim had some bad luck in their previous fight he was ahead in and it changed the whole ebb and flow result in a loss. Lets see what happens
tim aint no ducker and diver u have to give him that one
Thurman probably asked for too much money and really had nothing to offer to Tim, so they skipped him and went straight for Fundora and the title. Mind you, I am sure they had to pay a pretty penny to Fundora for the belt. I would not be surprised if Tim is taking short money on this one just to get the belt back.
That's a very interesting move on Fundora's part. If I were him, I'd consider the first win quite lucky and just ride with it. Continue going after other opponents to build your resume and try to score some massive retirement type paycheck. Instead, he's willing to risk it by going up against the man who was winning until the cut happened.
By Fundora losing to Tszyu this time around it will make everyone say, see, he shouldn't have won the first time and should have never really been champion. It will put his win completely into question and discredit him. Sounds like bad management around Fundora to take this option. Granted I'm sure the Aussies are desperate to continue finding a champion in Tszyu because he's very marketable still. They probably offered a sum Fundora and team couldn't turn down.
Finally somebody with some sense on here...if Tszyu was American he would be the next coming of Christ. Tszyu by **** this time around.
I think you answered any questions about this fight by yourself, ELPacman. Tsyzu will be looking back and thinking "damn, I was unlucky, caught by an elbow, had a set of wankers as my team" (followed by a killer of a fighter when I was trying to build myself up again).
I'm no forensic accountant, but like you, I imagine Tszyu's people will have offered everything for the rematch and that would be the top purse that Sebastian could ever see.
Sebastian could be thinking "I'm ten foot tall, I won't even hear the crowd noise and I already did you once, then you got absolutely marmalised by your next opponent, you're weaker, not stronger". Also, a lot of people are understandably referring to Tim looking great for three rounds (which he did) but winning for the first three doesn't mean that the tide can't change in any bout, otherwise people would go home early, like they do in football when it's 3 nil.
I don't believe Fundora will be wondering about legacy, it will be more "how much is that after tax?". Also, can you smell "trilogy" in the air?
No Trilogy TT will put a beating on Fundora and put it to bed then maybe Ortiz and he will rematch Murtz if they are still in the same division...Murtz could just be the Usyk of the division but I know TT has the balls to find out and have another crack even if he thinks he is little chance!

100% id reckon TT could comfortably retire years back just with his Australian PPV fights
Don’t suppose there’d be any chance of that Uzbekh who almost blew Tzyu’s head clean out of the ring getting a title shot? Yay boxing.
He's a boogeyman of that division.. also not a draw so they look at him and think he's dangerous and doesn't make me much money.. but he should be in a big fight coming of clean Tzyu out the way he did and being the IBF champion. But like you said it's boxing for you.
